I can't believe I am the only one here who remembers "Eddie & the Cruisers" it was a classic 80's movie. If you bought the soundtrack, it clearly said the real band's name on it.
To give a hint - "brown" was the only thing Sion had right in his guess. The real band's name mirrored the movie band's in that it was (lead singer's name) & the (band name). |
Man, GOT, I can't believe it either... It was John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. I remember thinking it was another artist because he sounded so much like him. Come to find out, that artist was a huge influence on John.
since I'm at work and can't spend alot of time here... name the artist I'm speaking of. |
I KNEW there was Brown in there somewhere. Just couldnt come up with it.
as for perripken's question: Jackson Browne? |
nope, I'll give you a hint, if you can remember the song that made the top 40 it was "On the Dark Side" That song sounds exactly like something another artist would do.
|
You're probably thinking of Bruce Springsteen
|
I know for a fact that GoT is correct.

Now, for a question... What 80's lead singer often adoped a variety of stage personas including the "crippled Nazi" Dr. Strangekiss, country singer Hugh Heifer and Quay Lewd, a drug-addled British pop star? /runs off laughing in an evil manner. muah ha ha ha |
This is an absolute shot in the dark...but my insta-guess leapt from my brain and said-
"Fee Waybill" (my god why do I even know THAT name?) :) And if that is correct-What band did Mr. Waybill front? |
Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
I thought I had a stumper!!!!! That barely lasted an hour. Damn. Obviously I know what band Fee Waybill fronted, so I'm out. |
you gotta be shitting me!!!!
honestly it was the magic orb of inspiration that hit me! |
I shit thee not.
Good guess. |
well, I know who Fee Waybill is. He fronts The Tubes. I know this because not only do I like some of their songs, but I once saw them open for Todd Rundgren's Utopia.
next question is a fill in the blank: "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow Dont be alarmed now. It's just a spring clean for the ___ _____." Who is the spring clean for? |
the May Queen.
|
indeed, KWSN. your turn
|
OK.
Name all the members of Oysterhead and their signifigance (as far as other bands and instruments are concerned). |
Finally! Show up at the right time to get one I know.
Stewart Copeland - drums for the Police Les Claypool - bass for Primus, Sausage, and Col. Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade Trey Anastasio - geetar for Phish Thinking of a new question |
New question:
Name the group comprised of Warren Zevon and REM's Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Bill Berry |
Hindu Love Gods!
|
Hey man... it wasn't Bruce Springsteen!
Just kidding.... my fellow trivia guru the God of Thunder was correct! Hey Got, great to see you back! |
Good to be back, was away on family business for a while.
|
You got it, illinoiz! Your turn to come up with the next question.
Sorry about the wait on confirmation of a right answer. Internet connection has been giving me fits today. |
Anyone who has a question, go ahead and ask so we don't have to wait. I'm too tired to think up one.
|
Here's an easy one.
What artist, after publicly admitting the kicking of a certain addiction, appeared on Sesame Street? |
The Double Bill concert.
|
So do we have an answer?
|
James Taylor
|
KWSN, is James Taylor correct?
|
Nope.
It appears we have stumper status. The answer is Snoop Dogg. Soon after supposedly kicking his weed habit, he went on Sesame Street. If anyone wants to get the next question, be my guest. I've got nothing/ |
name the band that Robert Plant was in prior to joining the fledgling Led Zeppelin.
|
Ohh damn!! I knew that at one time.
Do I get any points for knowing what band he was in after Led Zeppelin?? |
Yardbirds?
|
sherpahigh is correct.
|
cool... Someone just enlightened me with the answer to this question recently so...
Who was the only member of Guns n' Roses to get a high school diploma? |
I'll go with the longshot and pick Slash

Jimmy still had some gigs left in his contract as the Yardbirds when he formed Led Zeppelin, so they performed for about a half a year as the "New Yardbirds" Allmusic.com has Plant singing in a band called Hobbstweedle right before joining Page for the New Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin. I would have never dredged that name out of the memory banks. |
Out of my own memory Yardbirds is correct, but Allmusic verifies it by saying Zeppelin "rose from the ashes of" the Yardbirds.
|
I knew Zeppelin came from the Yardbirds and Plant joined while (I think) they were already calling themselves The New Yardbirds, but once he joined, they already had the lineup in place that would quickly change its name to Led Zeppelin. I guess I just figured that he was looking for the group Plant was playing with when Page discovered him.
|
sorry if I jumped in too soon with an answer that wasn't right. I remember something about Hobbstweedle as well but I wouldn't of come up with that without looking it up.
anyway, as for the g n' r question, slash was not the one. |
duff
