god ... anything by coltrane or davis is incredible, ill toss my hat in the ring

John Coltrane - i love afro blue as well, the whole live at birdland album is amazing, but i like the promise more.

Miles Davis - Jeru, or pretty much anything off of the complete birth of the cool or kinda blue.

Dave Brubrek - Take Five. greatest jazz pianist ... ever :P

First Jazz album or actually CD i ever bought back in umm 9th grade or so. I remember I spent the whole summer trying to sound like Kai Winding.. until I heard JJ anyways. ;P

One thing about technology I have been seeing alot more reissues lately which hae better quality. Granted you can only inhance it so much as the original recording media will allow.

Monk, 'Trane, Gillespie... Too many favorite songs to list. Always like Lush Life myself but they're all good.

Sketches of Spain by Miles Davis and Take Five by Dave Brubeck. Of cource, I must not forget Herbie Hancock, Headhunters was the album that got me into the jazz world in the first place
