Seen them Live 3 times, and I met Otep herself last time. I had their EP for about a year waiting for Sevas Tra to come out. I'm a huge fan. Most of my friends would not even know who they are if it wasn;t for me. Though a few kinda like 'em know.

I saw them live about 2 years ago (had never heard of them before) and was very impressed. Definately worth checking out

Ok, I'm showing my ignorance herr. I've heard of Otep but never heard any of their songs. I listen to Iced Earth, Type O Negative, Black Sabbath, Dio, and Savatage. Do you think I would be interested in Otep?

MAybe. Otep has a female lead (her name is Otep), but are kind of metal/rapcore (I guess). They aren't much like any of those bands you named, but they are heavy and though they have a female lead, she raaawks!

RISE FROM THE DEAD, OTEP POST!

I've been listening to Otep for about a year...I must say that she has, far and away, one of the most frightening bands ever to grace my ears with gravel. Her voice is amazing, whether she's talking, screaming, growling or singing. Her lyrics haunt me (I can't even listen to Jonestown Tea anymore, and Menocide makes me feel uncomfortable), and the riffs are as hard hitting as any other metal band out there.

She's going to be at Ozzfest this year, and she is the MAIN reason I'm going! Hatebreed, Slipknot and Slayer are going to be there, too...but she was what put me over the edge! Jadey, I am so envious of you! I hope against hope that I can have even a moment's time to speak with her.

Edit: I forgot to mention: she has a DVD coming out in the middle of May, called "Abominations," that features three live tracks and three music videos. In July, her second full length album, "Book of Secrets" is coming out.

Saw them in concert once, and totally loved em! Haven't gotten around to geting the album, though. =(
