Footsteps versus Times of Trouble
The music is the same, but which do you like better? I think Footsteps kicks the crap out of Times of Trouble but thats just me. Both songs music was written by Stone Gossard but Footsteps was sung by Eddie Vedder and Times of Trouble by Chris Cornell.

I wouldn't think they are similar at all, honestly. I prefer Times of Trouble, but that's just a personal preference. Aside from that, here is the trivia for those that don't know.
Times of Trouble came from Temple of the Dog's album. They were two bands (Soundgarden and Mookie Blalock [later Pearl Jam]) doing a tribute album to Andrew Wood. Andrew Wood was the lead singer of Mother Love Bone that died of a heroin overdose. Two members of that band later formed what became Pearl Jam (Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament.) Footsteps was a song by Pearl Jam, although just an acoustic with lyrics...quite basic in it's first release, the same CD single that brought out Yellow Ledbetter from the UK. The song is the third part in a trilogy. The trilogy is about a serial killer's life. The first song "Alive" which is about him growing up dealing with molestations from his mother. The second is "Once" which is about his killing sprees. The third song is "Footsteps," his arrival at death row. Corrections welcome, just some trivia in the head that may be rusty. Jdoe |
