Mp3. I have an mp3 player in my car and I love the compressed format because I fit like a hundred songs on 1 CD. It rocks.

I also love MD players because they are small and compact.

Toss up between Vinyl & CD, I don't own much Vinyl..But I have like 600 CD's..

Mp3. It's much easier to listen to Mp3's when I'm at the computer than to constantly switch CD's, because what I feel like listening to changes all the time. Also, I love my Mp3 player.. It's great for excercising.

Mp3CD.

All the music I buy, and download, goes straight to a mp3cd. Its more convienient for me, and I have less discs to keep track of.

Another reason - I have a 10 gig harddrive. Subtract space for Win2K, assorted programs and files, I really don't have that much space for music. So I am constantly updating my mp3cd collection with new stuff, and encoding cd's that i bought.

vinyl is god.

with a good, modern player, the sound quality is better than digital. plus, you get to listen to all the rare indie stuff.

I like mp3 because it's just so versatile. Almost like a universal medium...

mp3, as well as ogg vorbis

Monkey's Audio, it's a lossless format. Larger file sizes, but perfect quality. File extension is .ape

kenshee 05-04-2003 04:36 AM

MP3. Kinda interested in .ogg

I'd have to say MP3. I mean there are other lossless formats, but they take up more space, and aren't as compatible in terms of portable MP3 players, and Car MP3 players. I'll deal with a bit of quality loss, for the flexibility.

That is completely unfounded, and quite frankly, totally ludicrous. That's not even in the ballpark of being logical.

It's one thing to like the sound of vinyl better, but it's another to say that the quality is better. I'm hoping your intentions lie with the former.

ATRAC, CD, and mp3 have served me well. My dad is in the "video/audio encoding/compression for satellite transmission" business, so he's keeping me in touch with the up and coming, or yet to be released formats.
Atrac is for portable use, CD is for stereo use, and mp3 is for computer use.
