I have to say King, our lists don't really overlap, but I own most of the cds on your list, well, with the exception of the last one. ;-) |
I usually avoid these kinds of threads, as I'm soo indecisive.
But, 20 is a fair enough number, I don't have to narrow it down too much. And as you can see, I still had to cheat a bit :p I basically made my list with the thought of 'If I had to live on an island and could only bring 20 CDs...' In which case I'd of course bring 20 CDs of mp3s ;) Anyways, here's my list, I think: In no particular order The Cure - Pornography Joy Division - Heart & Soul (box set) Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral/The Fragile TooL - Ęnima Moby - Play/Everything is Wrong Beastie Boys - Check Your Head Paul Van Dyk - The Politics of Dancing Skinny Puppy - Bites and Remission Ministry - The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste/The Land of Rape and Honey Fear Factory - Demanufacture/Obsolete Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream/Gish Deftones - White Pony/Adrenaline Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport Tricky - Maxinquaye Portishead - Dummy New Order - Substance DJ Tiėsto - can't pick just one, sorry. Wow...this might be tough. Partly because I love so much different music, and partly because I haven't bought that many different albums lately...either way, here goes nothing (in no particular order):
1. Death Cab For Cutie-transatlanticism 2. Death Cab For Cutie- The Forgotten Love 3. Death Cab For Cutie- Photobooth 4. Death Cab For Cutie-We've Got The Facts and We're Voting Yes 5. 311-311 6. Sublime-Sublime 7. The Postal Service-Give Up 8. The Perishers- Let There Be Morning 9. Greenday-Dookie 10. Nirvana- Nevermind (don't listen to it that much anymore, but it was definitely influential in my musical upbringing) 11. Third Eye Blind- Third Eye Blind 12. Dr. Dre- 2001 13. HIM- Razorblade Romance 14. Bush- Sixteen Stone 15. Wallflowers-Bringing Down the Horse 16. No Doubt- Tragic Kingdom 17. Fastball- All The Pain Money Can Buy 18. Eve 6- Eve 6 19. Eve 6- Horrorscope 20. Lit- A Place in the Sun Wow! That was easier than I thought. My only problem was trying to keep the list down to 20. Receiving Honorable Mention (aka, they woulda been on this list, but I didn't think of them in time): Any CD EVER put out by Counting Crows, Blessid Union of Souls, Greenday, Deathcab for Cutie (the only albums not making the above list are those I don't yet own, and therefore can't give full reviews for), Eminem, Marcy Playground...well, too many to list, honestly. |
