John Bonham in my opinion is one of the greatest. The guy is amazing. Mitch Mitchell is to low on that list 99 is way to low.

You should all be paying respect to Elvin Jones!!!

Also check out Jeff "Tain" Watts who plays with Branford Marsalis.

Bonham's work in Moby Dick and other Zeppelin tunes makes me give him a shout out... Rest in peace

Jon Fishman of Phish and Stuart Copeland...

John Henry Bonham is the greatest drummer ever, IMHO.

Who was the guy that did the drumming to the Last Samuri adds?
My favorite drummer was Joe Morello. There's something about jazz drumming that gets to me.

Carter Beuford of DMB... I'm sure it's been said before. The reason I think he's one of the best is that he plays them like a true musical instrument. He's not just laying a good beat behind everything, he's weaving different sounds and feels into the songs. I think without him, DMB is just average. I also saw Gomez last week and thought their drummer was right up there. He doesn't let loose on the albums like he did live. He's a little more busy for busy's sake, and more of a banger than Carter, but still damn impressive.

Jimmy Chamberlain.... He is just an amazing drummer from technical standpoint and he is able to really get inside the guts of a song and move things forward.

Yes, I should have mentioned Matt Abts, and Stanton Moore myself. Completely different styles, but both phenominal.

I always liked Ringo. Never too fancy. He didn't play to show off his drumming - he played to create a foundation for the song itself. Much more impressive than a technically impressive player.

just my two cents

bonzo was absolutely amazing. too bad he had to self destruct, like so many others.

elvin jones - i was able to see him a couple of times in boston a few years back, and he was amazing. completely gone from the heroin use, but he could still do it behind the kit. i cant really think of a more talented/visionary combo than jones and coltrane.

ringo is the luckiest man on the face of the earth. every other member of the beatles was extremely talented, but ringo was clearly the fourth best musician there. not sure of the truth to the rumors, but supposedly there are studio tapes of mccartney getting fed up with ringo's inability to keep time, and ending up playing the drums himself on a few tracks.
