Any Gov't Mule fans here?

Who here likes the Mule? What's your favorite song/album? Favorite concert moment?

If you can find New Orleans from April of 2004, download that. They actually played 2 straight nights. I was at the second one at it was amazing. I really need to get that one on disc. Other than that, I haven't had the time to get into all of the live bootlegs. Although, this is one band that you could have every show they've ever done and it would be worth it. You never know what you're going to get from one night to the next. As far as studios albums go, I would suggest "Dose".

Love the Mule. I didn't get to see them this time around but I caught Warren and the Allmans In Knoxville last month. Soulshine brought the place down!

I saw Warren play a spontaneous solo acoustic set 3 years ago at Deer Creek in Indy. He was playing for Phil Lesh and friends at the time. String Cheese Incident was the listed opener. Me and my friends had lawn seats so we got there about and hour and a half early so we could get a good place sit, and tape the show. About 15 min after the gates were opened, Warren came out and played. It was insane.

I just picked up the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute album and the Mule does a great version of "Simple Man".

I've been into the Mule now for a few years. Never had the chance to see them live though and it looks like their going to be in town this week so I'm hoping I can get to the show.

Can't wait.

I love Warren Haynes. He took southern rock guitar to another level. They have a great site at www.mule.net.

Mule's great. I've seen a couple of outstanding shows at the Tabernacle in Atlanta over the last few years. Went to the Warren Haynes XMas Jam in Asheville back in 2000 (I believe) and had some great surprises. Mule, the Allmans, Aquarium Rescue Unit, the Bottle Rockets, Kevin Kinney, John Popper, Edwin McCain, and Chris Duarte all played. Some great solo acoustic stuff by Warren at that show.

The Tabernacle in Atlanta is a great venue for seeing bands up close and personal. A friend of mine plays in Kings X and we saw them with Satriani and Dream Theater at the Tabernacle a couple of years ago. Got to hang out with everybody before and after the show. Never forget it.

The Mule rocked my ass off last night.

They truely are the epitome of "you gotta see them live to get the full effect" type of attitude. They jammed out every song and just rocked the joint hard. Loved the drum solo, reminded me of Bohnam's Moby Dick. He was having a fantastic time up there on the set, ear to ear shit-eating-grin.

Go check them out if you have the chance. Great show, well worth the price of admission.

Glad to hear you had a good time. You are right when you say that you need to see them live to fully appreciate them. They were even better when Woody was still alive.
