30 Seconds to Mars - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I'm not sure if there are any 30 Seconds to Mars fans on TFP but there new album, A Beautiful Lie, is coming out in August and there is yet another Not Final Advance floating around on the interweb (way to go Virgin Records). They sound a tad different, in my opinion, from there self titled which was released in 2002. I'm really digging the new CD tho and I'm sure the Retail version will be just as good.

You're right illogan but unlike most actor/musician hybrid Leto is a fucking amazing vocalist AND a great actor.

I absolutely adore 30 Seconds' debut and rank it as one of my all-time favourite albums. News to me that a new album is due soon and it's damn welcome.

Such a great year for music, new NIN, new SOAD, new Project Pitchfork, new 30 Seconds etc... All I need now is a new David Bowie album (fingers crossed).

Yeah I like the band definitely. I was really impressed when I found out it was Jared fronting. I hate that though ya know because I can't help but thinking "Oh man thats good it's Jared Leto?!!" Instead of just thinking "Hey this is good" ya know?

Is the sound more refined on this one? Because in my opinion the debut kind of sounded like they hadn't QUITE found their sound yet and were just experimenting a little. Maybe I need to give it another listen I'm not sure.

Yeah I suppose it is a bit more refined and I would say radio friendly but it is good and I think between there last effort and this one they are still experimenting.

Oooh, downloaded it last night and am not impressed AT ALL. Leto sounds like a <i>THE</i> band vocalist and the music is a lot more radio rock friendly.

Will give it a few more spins on the pod...

I agree with Mr. Deflok. I still rage their self-titled album constantly, I can't get enough of it.

Damnit, I love their style in the self titled. I can't just listen to one song off their CD, I got to go through the whole damned thing, and the insane plan to take over the universe in the end kicked ass.
I'll probably buy the CD when it comes out because I do not have the bandwidth to get full albums from the web.
