I have a Ouija board and it doesnt work

It is one of the old Parker Brothers ones, I have tried using it on my own, with another person - it never moves at all.

I truly do believe in ghosts and I have heard people tell me stories about apparations and spiritual interventions in their lives that I truly believe - but I seem to be so unsensitive.

I read that 90% of people can dowse with only a little practise, when I try nothing happens, I have camped out at places that are supposed to be haunted (like Borley Church in England), and I never have seen anything, and have never felt anything other than myself scaring myself.

There are maybe two weird things that have happened to me in 25 years, and to be honest both had more plausuble explanations than there being any paranormal element to it.

Is it possible I am just unable to connect to whatever level paranormal activity happens?

I do think there are some people who are naturally more sensitive to the paranormal than others. There are also varying levels of skepticism and romanticism. I have had a few slightly strange experiences without really looking for them, but I have friends who seem to be plagued by this stuff all the time.

What ever you do.. don't use it.. If you do manage to call up something and it is bad then you might not be able to get rid of it.. were a few threads in here about it actually..

Ive used it a lot it just doesnt work, if I call something up that I dont like I'll just tell it to get back - I'm alive and I'm guessing anything that talks on a Ouija board isnt, so what's it gonna do? It can't touch my world, and if it could, I could touch it back.

I'm of the general opinion that the Ouija board doesn't work in the manner that it claims to.. any movement that occurs is much more likely to be the product of physical manipulation from any of the living parties involved whether subconcious or concious.

perhaps some ghosts have signed an endorsment with a non parker bro's ouija board manufactorer to only use certified and authorized ouija boards. I think my theory is more plausable then having a ouija board contact the dead and bring back some inherint evil.

An Ouija boards pointer is merely propelled by a persons nerves.
The more unsteady your hand the more it moves.
It's like if you took a video tape of your hands held straight out from your body and held your eyes closed.
Your hands would actually move around alot.

The lighter you rest your hands on the pointer the better the results...usually.
Always keep your eyes closed because this causes even more instability or loss of balance due to the loss of sight.
Hence: the pointer will move more after a few minutes.

Try walking up a staircase with your eyes closed.
Same principle.

I've never put any worth into an Ouija bored <<<heheh
and it amazes me to read the things I do about people conjuring up spirits with an alphabet and a plastic pointer thingy.

blah

Yes, I know that was negative but I'm merely speaking my point of view and hope it didn't insult anyone in the process.

*edit: But I did give you two good tips on how to make it work !

1.Always keep eyes closed.
2.Light touch...very light touch.

here's an extra.....if all else fails......spin around a few times with your eyes closed......then try it again.

I gaurantee it will move

I've always found the Ouija game by Parker Bros. to be so bizarre. Does anyone know how this came about? It's history? I'd be interested to know.

the board is only a conduit for the subconcious. No nastys living in the plastic. Seems your question has more to do with your percieved failure to channel energy than working a cheap game. Go to a local pagan shop and chat with folks, they can help you remove the blocks you have created.

There are times that ghost are very malicious and CAN reach you and CAN hurt you. There have been a few cases that people would suddenly start getting scratches on thier bodies and start bleeding.

And regarding being in a hot spot of paranormal activity, that means nothing. There are times ghosts are more active than others. By times I mean dates of years. Try going to an abandoned prison and walking around with a magnetic field detector. (According to many studies ghosts can be sensed as magnetic levels, higher level of magnetism higher chance of a ghost near by.)

Another thing is that many ghosts dont want to be seen so pay attention to your peripherals (corner of your eyes) and sometimes turn around real fast. May sound ass-ish but it's true.

There's the third point that some people are just less sensitive the paranormal activity. You may be one of them, this can be a blessing or a curse.

I say your board is busted and burn it. I would heed the words of GoldenOuroboros. Don't use it because if it did work you could bring something up that can cause more damage then good.

You actually do hear a scream. Im not sure if it relates to the type of wood or how it is burned. This happened to me and a group of friends a little over 30 years ago. We got into it after
The Excorcist came out. A girl had a board for several years but never got it ot work. Then, a group of us made it happen. That's all I want to say about that experience. We decided never to talk about it again....

It is said that for best results, you should have a person of the opposite sex on the other side. I remember the last time is used the ouija board, it told me how i was gonna die. It said that i was gonna mess with a married woman and her husband was the one to kill me. The crazy part was, we asked what street she lived on. The board named some weird street name that we couldnt have made up if we tried. We looked up the street name in the phone book and there it was. I dont know if it was a coincidence, but i have nevered used it since.

It may be that you have a "grey aura." Not only will you not be able to pick up supernatural occurences and be unable to use the ouija board, you actually drain the power out of mystical devices, charms, and any other supernatural objects. It's a mixed blessing. You'll never be pestered by spirits, but you'll never get teh damn board to work, either.

I want it to work because it would be either proof of the power of the mind to physically effect the environment in a way we didnt understand, or some kind of survival of death or the existence of beings on another plain.

(as ling as we werent cheating)

proving any of those things, even to myself, would be pretty cool.

I cant say if I would be scared if I started getting messages about be dying and stuff, I guess I might, but curiousity is a powerful motivation

Not really sure how the board works however if it screams tell me I want to go buy one and see what it sounds like, I dont beleive in this kind of stuff honestly but it would be interesting to look into I guess.

Did have a odd experience once though .. Me and sister were only ones up parents were asleep and were downstairs upstairs we hear a bunch of shattering glass and the alarm goes off were totally freaked out and hiding in a locked door >< (brave me aye)

I then grab a statue and walk up-stairs and nothing is wrong no shattered glass or anything however my dogs were barking alot >< (and the alarm was still going off [loud might I add]

Freaky stuff, acctaully this is the first time ive thought about it since it happened haha

i have to agree with papermachesatan. I think if it moves, its because someone is moving it. However the thought of it ACTUALLY working is enough for me to not touch them.
