Dude, you don't need to post this here - get some nacho cheese, get some water and try it out. Quite how this is a philosophical question is beyond me, hopefully your enlightened response will provide something more interesting for me to think on other than the comparitive densities of water and mexican dairy produce.

only if the nacho cheese's density is less then the water, the cheese will probubly desolve in the water.

go run to the store.

I'm pretty sure nacho cheese sinks in water. Why I recall this and when I could have seen nacho cheese sink, I am not sure. Perhaps I did some dishes at some point. Ah yeah, that's it. School cafeteria. That sucked.

Anyway, not exactly a philosophy question, but I knew the answer anyway.

I am pretty sure that nacho cheese sinks in water. It should behave the way that tissue paper does. Evene though the density of the tissue paper is less than water, the small porous holes in the cheese allow water to flow through, eventually increasing the density of the cheese until it is greater than the density of the water, and then it sinks

Okay....for the benefit of our members, and to hasten the demise of this.....less than well thought out thread, I just placed a measured amount of Nacho Cheese into a bowl of water.

The results:

Floatation occured for appox. 2.5 seconds for 3oz. of material placed in a 32oz. container of H2o. Displacement was not measured but could be obtained through extrapolation of data.
