Kamiak Butte

This has one picture for now which may be added to - my personal opinion is that >5% of my pictures are worth posting here quality wise, and this made the cut. If any of the others are worthy and kid free I may post them as well.

This was taken during an unplanned 3.5 mile hike on Kamiak Butte with 6 children (I just claim four of them) 7 years -2.5 months; interesting to say the least. I took this from the scenic spot.
the town visible in the distance is Pullman

I love the Palouse. I'd like to see more pictures if you have them, please. And what were you doing in the Palouse of all places?

Gorgeous color, does it look that red in person?

Truly a good question I have wondered before - I grew up in Woodburn much closer to your area, then eventually ended up in the Moscow/Pullman area after my military phase in Florida and getting my AA from ITT Tech in Portland a few years back.
I moved out here to get away from the big city and will likely be here for some time.

That was the only slight tweak I did in the GIMP, and it was just increasing the hue a small amount; I figured that bringing out the natural beauty a bit more would be forgiven me.
The natural colour at the time was greener (this was taken in early september this year), I would like to go back and take a similar shot in the winter months and the other seasons as well - this was my first actual hike up there.

Thank you for the comments about the red colour, that was why I bumped them just a wee bit in the first place.
Here is the untouched original just for reference.

It's not a bad place to be; I'm just surprised to find someone on TFP living in that neck of the woods I've always thought it was incredibly beautiful out there.

Pretty! Must have been an interesting trek with a gaggle of children along.
