I just heard of a news story concerning an elected official from Utah, who was ousted from his job because of his refusal to use a certain voting machine.
It seems that when the voting machines arrived at the place, this guy got a company that specializes in testing the machines for possible flaws, and hacking of the machines. Evidently he called the company that made the machines, Diebold, and told them to come get them, the state of Utah would not be using them. That was on a Friday. On Monday morning when he came to work, his office was locked, and they told him he was dismissed of his duties. He argued the fact of him being an elected official, and they couldn't dismiss him. There was a representative from Diebold there, and along with that representative and others, he was told his services were no longer needed.

Alrighty then. Firing an elected official seems strange even by Utah standards.
