well ,I am pretty sure that was a loaded question, mainly because I don't think that the tribal nations are truly sovereign, but at least he should take second, what's wrong with saying "hmm, let me think about this for a minute?" why does he always race his foot to his mouth?

Let me clarify. When I use the word simple, I don't mean simple as in 'sound-bite for the simpleton', I mean simple as in something which the average American can understand and get meaning from. Kerry might be descriptive about his breakfast but his answer wouldn't be along the lines of 'what did I eat for breaksfast? Well, it's like you said, it was breakfast, and basically that's what breakfast is, it's breakfast food, you know, what a person eats when they are eating breakfast.'

I think that hits at the heart of the issue. Not knowing is not a crime. While I might find it less than inspiring that the President doesn't have even a rudimentary understanding of the matter, I would still respect him if his answer had been "I don't know" or "I'll have to get back to you on that one" or "That's an excellent question but I don't think I can give you a fair answer right now" or any other beg-off of the sort. The fact that he tried to bluff his way through to sound like he knew what he was talking about. As we say down here in Texas, "Big hat, no cattle", known to the rest of the country as a BS-er.
