Which came first??
 

BlueEyes and I were having a discussion about our early sexual experiences... specifically if we had experienced oral sex before we had intercourse. She went straight for the intercourse and skipped the oral part (luckily she never skips the oral now :thumbsup: ). My thought is, sex is like drugs in that each step is a gateway to the next step, so I assume most people work through all of them before getting to the intercourse.

So now, fine folks of the TFP, weigh in with your first time time-lines. We both pretty much agree on how this will turn out, but thought it would be fun to see the results anyway.

First experience was intercourse.

Oral first...

Had oral almost three years before first intercourse.

About that long for me as well.

Oral, but only by a few minutes.

Oral, by a couple weeks.

Had oral about 6 months before intercourse (different guys), but was also my first time taking clothes off with a man, and I was very awkward and uncomfortable with everything. He also did not even consider how I felt (didn't ask/announce anything) and just went for it, and I was kind of in shock about the whole thing. I was like... "Umm, what the hell is he doing? Is he supposed to be doing that? I don't know if I want him to be doing that. I don't know this person THAT well." (I think I had blocked it from my mind until I saw this thread, it was that uncomfortable.)

Luckily, ktspktsp and I have been practicing oral on each other since practically the first few moments that we had to ourselves as a couple, 4 years ago... and we love the experience of practicing on each other, getting better every time! :thumbsup: (I came after like... 5 minutes on Sunday, which is a freakin' personal record!)

I went from very heavy petting to intercourse. Didn't try oral (giving or receiving) for at least a year after that. Can't say for sure...

The first girl I had a sexual relationship with was not interested in oral sex in either direction just intercourse. We were both very young. My next sexual experience was also with a very young girl but one that had plenty of experience. A lucky find for me as she showed me the ropes.

I wonder if there's a relationship between which came first and which is the preference.

Definately oral, but it was a real bitch trying to contort my body in just such a way that......

Actually, I can't remember which came first. If it was oral, then it probably wasn't very good, but I do remember my first screw.

I had oral about 6 months before sex.

Everything escalated from making out - petting - hand jobs - oral - vaginal sex - anal sex

Haven't tried anything too kinky yet, but whos to say its not in my future.

I wonder if it's a generational thing. When I was a kid, oral was unheard of for teens in my location, but nowdays it seems to be an early act amongst teens.

This occurred to me, too. I don't recall kids talking about oral sex when I was a teen.

Maybe it's a regional thing too. I'm older then you (sadly) and I remember oral being a regular topic of conversation. One of my first experiences were with a girl at a bon fire, we walked off a ways and were making out and she whispered in my ear "want a blow job?" Let's see, I'm a teenage boy, I get a hard on every time the wind picks up a little, to this day I think that's why it's called a stiff breeze. So, do I want a Blow Job? Fuck yes I want a blow job! As to the question I'd had intercourse for a few weeks prior to doing oral.

Intercourse first. Oral a week or so later.

This has been very interesting so far. Thank you for the contributions. I'm being proven wrong in that I thought the percentage would be more like 80% oral first to 20% not. It's interesting to see how many people went "all the way" to home base, without touching third base first. :)

Willravel, I like your idea about testing the relationship between which experience came first and which act is preferred.

I don't know that I think that is the case. It is a more recent among teenagers now because they feel that they can fool around and still claim to being a virgin.

But....

I think I had intercourse first because sex was such a taboo subject among my friends. Because it was never discussed, it didn't occured to me to have oral before intercourse. Maybe it depends on how open your family and friends are about sex?

Well, see, when I was a teenager third base was not oral sex, it was feeling up (poss. including handjobs). Oral sex would have been given the same distinction as intercourse.

One of my boyfriends when I was younger INSISTED to go down on me. Now, prior to him I had done nothing but kiss a guy. I really didn't want to take that step but he was fingering me and then all of a sudden, did it, without asking.

It was funny, I viewed sex as the ultimate taboo for a couple of years, but yet I thought sucking dick wasn't a big deal. So, instead of having intercourse for about 2 years, I decided that I'd just give head to the guys I was with.

Thus, oral came before sex with pretty much every partner I've had.
