Holy threadbump, Batman!

Each one seems to have a rather nice smell, although I don't ever remember being told I smell nice because of it. I'll have to do some extra research.
|
The "more girls are attracted to me when I wear axe" effect is probably just because....it's nice when someone smells good. It makes you want to be closer to them and stay closer to them. If someone's at a concert and wants to grab a guy to dance with, why not grab the one that smells nice?
Personally though, I really don't like the smell of axe. Maybe it's just certain scents they make or whatever...but I always detect this underlying smell to it that just...repulses me. I probably wouldn't even notice it, but for a year, this guy who worked with me wore WAYY too much of it every day. I think he must have gone through a bottle of that stuff a week...if not sooner. Perhaps that just made me more sensitive to the subtleties of axe...but...meh. It's not enough to make me run away from a guy who's wearing it. A hot guy is a hot guy, whether he smells slightly of B.O. or slightly of a scent I would rather not smell. But...I probably wouldn't be all that comfterble cuddling with a guy wearing axe. The smell just...doesn't sit right with me. Then again, different girls will be attracted to different smells and different scents will mix with the oils on people's skins in different ways. If it seems to work for you, by all means, keep using it. I, however, prefer a guy wearing a real cologne....or at least someone who manages to wash their clothes somewhat often. I love the smell of a nice, fresh shirt on a guy :) |
this is from my experience...I know nothing of Axe..BUT there is a pheremone cologne out there called realm...and by all thats holy it affects me in such a way that isnt decent. First time I was around a guy that was wearing it, I didnt know what it was (it hadnt been out long...this was in 1998/99, somewhere around there....I'd gone to alabama to do some genealogy work with this guy I'd been talking to online for a long time..within 30 minutes of getting in his car I was so horny I couldnt stand it.
I stayed that way all day....and I mean ALL day, couldnt figure out why either, cause this guy didnt do a thing for me lol. After I got home I emailed him and asked him what he'd been wearing cause I loved the way it smelled SO GOOD. He told me and I immediately went and bought some for my then hubby. The stuff still works on me too....Dave wears it when he wants to torture me....he puts it on when we are having to go spend time with his parents  cause he knows it gets me SO worked up, but I cant do a damn thing about it |
I wear axe kilo. Every girl says I smell good! I swear by it. Three years now.
Realm? :hmm: I think I'll go get some! |
I hate axe. It smells too alcohol-y for me. Then again, I've been accidentally sprayed by it at work numerous times....and had to smell it on myself the rest of the day.
|
I just got some Armani Aqua Di GIO. Does anyone wear it and what's the responce from the ladies like?
|
So what have we learned?
deoderant > no deoderant. |
Logan, hubby has that cologne and it is the best smelling mens scent I've ever smelled. Good choice

I am still partial to just plain old ivory soap or Irish Spring if you are feeling a little fancier... forget the colognes - soap and water is the best. |

I wore it one day and wham, 4 different girls that day, girls ive never met were like, "wow, you smell great!"....
So who knows...... |

Also, perfumes don't taste very nice. |
I dont know about other peoples experiences with Axe but I bought a can of Tsumani and tried it out at a bar. Within minutes of sitting down I had young attractive women running towards me while ripping off their clothing. It was out of control. The police had to come and rescue me from the whole ordeal.
Oh wait that was just the commercial. I have a can. It smells fine. Last long and works fine. As long as I dont smell like motor oil or BO when I use it Im happy. CRX Forum |

Cello's hit the gold :D |
Sometimes the body spray is a little too much for me, but I love using the body wash. IT smells really good. My best friend bought me two bottles of it for my birthday, and I always thank her for it :P (Although, I think she gave it to me because she wanted to see how it smelt on me)
|
I just bought Axe Africa/Kilo - the body spray and I really like its smell.
I will be using it with a vanilla body wash, I think. Though if I manage to find the kilo body wash, I'd buy that too. |
The hell with this Axe stuff. My husband wears cologne, 'sexual'.... and good gods, is it hot.
Rawr!!! I like Aqua di Gio a helluva lot too. It's yummy. If they haven't overdone it in general, I don't notice it as a bad taste on the skin. That's only RIGHT after the spray or if they did it wrong. |
[B]ITS HOT....THATS ALL THERE IS TO IT!!!!! IT MAKES ME WANT TO JUMP THEIR BONES!!!! OOO YESS!!!!!
|
I checked the stuff out in the store one day and my wife hated the smell of it, but she's also one of those like Cello that would rather have Zest soap smell instead of cologne..
So I'll buy some and when we get in a fight (which I always lose) I'll put some on...just to piss her off.... |
i have used axe phoenix for awhile now, and the ladies do like it. But i cant equate the attention i get to the spray, but it cant hurt!

To be very honest, the smell of Axe makes me want to vomit.
|
My boyfriend wears Axe...he smells like the sexy...it makes me want to snuggle him and then screw him senseless. No kidding.
|
Is it possible that girls recognize the distinct odor, relate to the commercial, and then react as the females in the commercial do, if only because they are letting their lives and actions be dictated by popular media?

Kilo rocks, probably the best Axe out there. If you use the Axe kilo body wash the scent lasts 2x longer!

Where do you folks buy your colognes (aqua di gio etc)? I can't seem to see any in supermarkets (where I get my Axe's). I'm sure they used to have some (when I was younger and not interested in them..). Perhaps pharmacies might sell them, I don't know. |
I love the Axe body wash on my husband-- I can't get enough of him when he wears it!

It's amazing how much of a pro-Kilo sentiment there is in this thread. Right when Axe first came out, I got a cute Walgreens clerk to smell all of the (six at the time) scents and help me pick one. We eliminated three as being obnoxious, narrowed it down to two, and she finally decided she liked Kilo best. Been wearing it ever since (three years?) and have had nothing but excellent responses to it. I now do the Kilo body wash, antipersperant gel solid, and the aerosol spray. |

the ads are also extremely ridiculous, like a guy waiting for his date and the mom smells him and then hits on him and the daughter comes down the stairs like "?" then followed by a warning about moms and moms' friends hitting on you when axe has been applied. |

Works for me. |

yet i have been inundated with axe commercials. i don't watch tv, i don't read the news, and i only listen to the radio when my boss turns it on when we're out working in the field... and it's usually not even an audible volume because we're being actually working.... and the radio at work isn't even how i first learned of axe anyway... how i've seen these commercials is beyond me |
I am currently in a legal battle with "AXE Corporation" as they have snuck into my bedroom and stole my boxers, I wondered where they got it from!
|
I think the Axe thing is all advertising - hitting guys weak spots in thinking : )
- kinda like Victoria's Secret commercials too vanilla, jasmine are good scents I think |
