WTF platform heels are sexy ?
What is it about these pltformed heel ( transparent or other wise).I do not think they look sexy just heavy.
As a weel renouned legs man - stay up s helping the fetish, i do not under stand the appeal of these. ANy thoughts ? Do women enjoy them on their feet, with the added danger of breaking their nekc if they trip. |
My GF kinda has to wear platform shoes since she's very short. Otherwise her pants etc. are ruined by the floor.
I hate the obnoxious huge shiny platform shoes that has "overdone" written all over. |
I'm a woman, and I hate them personally. I'm pretty short too (5'2"), but I have no desire to walk 4 inches above the ground. If I want to accentuate my legs the way high heels do, I'll wear simple high heels. Or I buy pants that fit lengthwise (or let them drag the ground like a dirty hippy!). I truly believe that the platforms are just another fashion trend, aligning with that retro phase.

platform shoes is the work of the devil!
|
I cant stand platforms, (Im 5'2 as well) I MUCH prefer a stilleto heel when I want to make my legs look better. Platforms (as well as other what I call "chunky" heels) are just exremely gaudy to me. ick ick ick
|
I kinda like them, if they're subtle - I feel tall (I'm 5'1" normally) and in a pinch, I could whip them off and use them as a weapon. A good throw at someone's head could do some real damage.
|
Except for the taller thing, while I'd love to be an inch or two taller, I don't get the appeal of platforms. They are just so ungraceful looking. I see women walking around in them, and I'm reminded of Clydesdale ponies. Regular high heels are much more graceful and allow for a gliding walk...

i like em...i dont know why...but i just do....well as long as they arent all flashy. heels are definately sexier but platforms have their place in my heart :)
|
As a short guy, I'm not a fan. It's no fun when a girl that you're normally taller than suddenly has 2 inches on you. No fun at all.
|
They look ridiculous. Make girls who wear them look like clowns.

'nuff said :D |
Meh...I used to wear platform shoes. They looked real good with my leisure suit...in the 70's!!! :D
Oh yeah, anybody else here old enough to remember the "goldfish bowl in the heel" platforms? The ones with the live goldfish in 'em? Fun times...fun times. |

I'm not big on platrom heels OR pltformed heels. I don't have a strong opinion on platform heels, though. lurkette has a few pairs that are sort of clunky heels that I like a lot. They're sort of an updated, sexified pair of Mary Janes. Cute but dirty. |
Oh you are so young.... Powder blue was the prom tuxedo -- with the ruffled shirt :D got pictures of that too Bill? :D

But...I was under the age of 18. Therefore, the posting of such picture would be a direct violation of TFP policy. So there. :p |
Awwww - -there's such a thing as extenuating circumstances... Rules were meant to be broken...
It was powder blue -- wasn't it? Betcha looked absolutely adorable : bats eyes: :winks: :wolf whistles: :falls over laughing: |

And the leisure suit was a rust (burnt orange) color. And, of course, I wore the obligatory gold chain. ;) |

/austin powers I don't really find platform shoes attractive on a female.. I do remember they seemed to be semi-popular (not on a 70s level hehe) when I was back in high school/jr high in the mid 90s. |
uhh, some people can wear them some can't.
But definitly yes they are sexy |
I like them just because they make me tall! ;)
Nah, they hurt your feet, and sneakers are just as sexay, right? PS: What's up with your typing, dude? |
Extremely sexy. They accent the leg very well, and I like them much more than high heels. I don't like danty, weak girls, and I feel that high heels take power away from the female anatomy. Platforms are much more solid, and do so while still looking damn sexy.

How do they accent the leg any more than a normal high heel? The only thing they do, really, is make you appear taller. My mom is 5 feet tall and she has worn only platforms since they came into style. She even has platformed sneakers
I, however, wouldn't be caught dead in them. I guess they're okay for some people or some outfits...but most people just look stupid in them. |

I like the Wedge heals or high stilletos but the platform ones offer me nothing. I'm average in highth and I like men to be just a little taller than me. I wouldn't want to be extremely tall and in a sense those just shout - I'm sort and I'm self conscious about it. No sex appeal for me. They're hard to walk in. Not because they're heavy but because you have to walk relatively flat footed putting the force on the ball of your foot instead of rolling your foot and putting the initial force on your heal. No thanks.

What kind of platform are we talking here? A half inch platform is great. Very few 1 inch or 2 inch platforms look good imo.
|
I am very tall so I really can't wear any heels at all without towering over people. Thank goodness I finally have a b/f who is taller than me! I'm hardly about to jeopardize that by strapping 3 inches of plastic to my feet.
But as far as beauty goes, I have to admit I like understated heels, that just elongate the shape of the ankle, but I don't like stilettos because they are so ridiculously impractical, not to mention dangerous! And platforms just look silly becuase they are too heavy and bulky. |
i repaired a ceiling last week that had high heel holes in it .they were the stiletto type and theres no mistaking what they were i dqnt know how they got there, but every time i see the woman, now i get wood.
|
Men find them sexy at least in part because they change the shape of the calf... but they are very, very hard on the feet and legs if you wear them much. Or so I am told.
And there are plenty of other ways to be sexy... |
I don't think platforms are sexy or look good because they really are clunky and they tend to dwarf the foot, which just looks ridiculous to me. I'm picturing a girl in shorts, you follow the line of her leg down and then there's four or five inches of brightly-colored rubber flip flop below her foot - weird. It seems so out of place, like "exactly what is that thing on your foot? And no, the Clydsdale walk is not flattering.
I also think the wedge is damn ugly, looks vaguely orthopedic to me. I really prefer that the heel of the shoe be distinct from the rest. I can't wear narrow heels because of my ankles though, so that leaves me with one option: the clunky heel, like you see on boots and such. Personally I far prefer a heel I can run in if I had to anyway. Maybe some day I'll study up on how these preferences have changed through the generations...I've been vaguely interested ever since the day my mother pointed out a pair of clog-like shoes with a mono-heel and said, "I've always thought that type of shoe was so sophisticated and sexy." I was like HUH?? but then I noticed other women her age wearing them, all dressed up and such. |
