Capri Pants
 

This is not really a sex issue, but since I have two berries and twig between my legs, I can't post this in the ladies lounge, but it is directed towards the better half of our species.

Ok, so what the hell is it with Capri pants? They aren't pants, they aren't shorts, what are they and why do women go ga-ga for these ugly things.

I mean, they are basically highwaters, which means pants cut too short for floods. Who got the idea that if they cut a pair of pants too short, women would buy them? It is like they were a mistake and it caught on. Imagine if no one ever came up the "idea" of naming them. Would women still buy them? Probably not; they would just be pants that don't fit.

So, please what is the deal with these things. (sounds like Seinfeld)???!!!

They can be flattering on some women. They used to be called pedal pushers. I think they first came out at a time that it wasn't as accepted for a woman to wear shorts but it was a compromise I think.

I don't personally go Ga Ga over them. They're no wierder than som other fashion statements out there. One that I hate is the fad for men to wear their pants so low they're practically falling off your ass and exposing wierd boxers. If I wanted to look at underware showing over the pants or see butt crack I could go to a construction site and what guys bending over to work. It's not flattering in either case.

Although the underwear showing thing for women has become huge. It even has been named "whale tongue" or "whale tonguing" for crying out loud!

Amen raeanna I absolutely cannot guys that wear their pants like that, it is so slouchy and unkempt looking. I cant ever take a guy dressed like that seriously. As for capri pants I think those are ugly too, I thought they were ugly in my moms pictures of her as a teenager (in the 60's) and they are ugly now.

My wife is 5 feet short. She loves it when Capris are in style, because it means she doesn't have to hem hre pants.

I do NOT like capri pants. My mother thinks they're adorable and buys them for me as Christmas gifts- but I just say 'Thanks, but no thanks!'

So would you women that have posted say that they are an ugly fashion that should be put to bed?

I hate them. Either wear shorts or pants, not shants!

Capris can look good on certain women.

See, Im a girl who's not comfortable wearing shorts, and sometimes in the summer its too hot for full-out pants. I think capris are a good compromise.

I LOVE skorts....as long as they are so short they look like a really really short mini skirt....I can get away with wearing those to work since they wont let me wear shorts lol

Dingdingdingdingding. That's why I like them. And I happen to have a body type that's flattered by them.

I like skorts. Anything that is really short is nice! There are certain frustrations with them but I'll keep that to myself.

Well...yeah...but, you could make a potato sack look good, so that's really a moot point. ;)

Capri pants are typically the worst looking pants I have ever seen. Some women can pull them off, but I have yet to prefer them over any other type of leg covering. Not a fan here. Not a fan at all...

I like Capri's on women... in fact I, as a guy, have pants that could technically be called capri's but since I'm a guy I just call them pants... or long shorts...

I say too, that they (the pants) are a tease, and not a very good kind. They aren't short enough to show enough leg. I mean, who says, "Man, look at the ankes on her!"

There are girls that look good in them, but most likely those girls would look good in just about anything so I'd just prefer to see them in something else.

I would never wear them.

Being that I am tall (5'9") people would think that I couldn't find pants long enough if I wore them.

I have the same problem - they just don't look right on me - -

I've seen them on men only recently, very rarely, under what circumstance are they worn - -women's capris can be somewhat dressy - -but men's capris - or whatever they are called- -aren't appropriate for a work environment (I don't think) They just seemed wrong...

I love capris. I have really long legs, so it is hard to find pants long enough, and shorts look really slutty on me. I actually look pretty funny in short shorts, and even funnier in long shorts.

I think I look kinda cute in them.

Highwater pants are called "cropped". Capris go higher on the shin. Cropped pants don't sit right with me.

Im a guy, I like capri pants AND my underwear shows sometimes!

I happen to like capris pants, but as everything, they don't go on all body types. If i can find a pair that are flattering, then i'm a happy camper :) Plus, it's fun for summer when ya don't want to wear shorts *shrugs*

I love capri's myself. I'm quite short, and like a few others have already mentioned, there's no need to hem capri's or find an elusive "short" length like there is with jeans. They're comfy and fit well, I can't ask for much more. :)

Although, I will admit that there are certain styles of capri's that are better than others, and some people just can't wear them well for whatever reason. But overall, I like capri's just fine.

Personally, I hate capri pants and each time I've attempted to wear them, I look utterly ridiculous. Unless you have the exact perfect body for them, stick with pants or shorts.

And as for the "whale tongue", I think it's tacky. I wear thongs, I wear low rise jeans, but my mother taught me how to be a lady, and a lady doesn't show her underwear intentionally like that, because it's just trashy.

Men capris are cool if they are the more khaki style ones but only on... you know not me. heh

Women capris on the other had can look really good on some women.

I have shorts with half-length zip-off sections under the knees. They're intended for skating, the logic being that the legs won't drag or get tangled and cause a faceplant.

As spoken my younger, fashion conscious sister, " Capris are awesome because that means the girls only have to shave from the pants down!" Hence the popularity with her and her friends.

Eh, they're okay... I like to piss off my girlfriend by calling them clamdiggers though :p

I'd say they are definately more casual wear... but I can still get away with wearing them to work... we're very casual here. I wear shorts most of the summer.

I love 'em . Have more pairs of Capri pants than normal pants, or even jeans. I'd like to think I have the legs for them....

ok...guys who wear capris.....yikes......chicks that wear them.....meh....not a big fan. They are not flattering at all.....make a tall girl look even taller.....a skinny girl lokk 'hippy' and a chunky girl even chunkier.

My opinion: My girlfriend looks awesome in anything she wears.... EXCEPT capris. For some reason, I just think they look stupid.

i hold a hatred for capri pants that is only rivaled by my hatred for trucker hats. fuck you, paris hilton.
