Ladies Lounge question for the Men....

So, how many of you guys read our stuff? How many of you get turned on by doing so? Just how many of you feel like a voyeur while viewing our little section, and in turn get even more aroused because of this?

Bacchanal 12-02-2004 12:11 PM

I've caught myself reading one thread in there, but that was because it was on the 'new posts' list, and I didn't realise it was in Ladies Lounge.

Other than that, I try to stay out of there because, for the most part, none of it pertains to me.

DewMan 12-02-2004 12:12 PM

I hadn't been there until you mentioned it...

I may have to visit more often though...

Dale Kemp 12-02-2004 12:30 PM

I've always been very interested in women, and not just their obvious physical charms. I'm quite fastinated by the female psychological differences too. So I often visit the Ladies Lounge. But it doesn't "turn me on" to read what is discussed. Well, maybe a little bit by the thread about the breast augmentation plans of one TF'ette. I hope she is well pleased with the results, but I wouldn't want any woman I know to feel any need to alter herself so drastically.

It is quite interesting that there is no gentlemen's lounge.

omega2K4 12-02-2004 12:31 PM

I read it, there's some interesting stuff in there. Just don't post (if you're a guy), you might be castrated afterwards.

LoganSnake 12-02-2004 12:33 PM

I'm there quite often, not so much for the arousal purposes but for knowlege gain. Call me weird, but I try to predict what you ladies would say to a question being asked before actually reading the responces. More often than not, my prediction are wrong. Reading Ladies Lounge is facinating in a sense that the ideology and replies often differ on certain topics (such as sex).

braisler 12-02-2004 12:33 PM

I have lurked there on occasion, mostly out of curiousity. I know better than to post there myself. My wife has posted a couple of things there and I have been interested to read her input on the various topics.

Here is a point that might deserve its own thread... or not. We were discussing how much of what gets written in Ladies Lounge or elsewhere on this board is true to life. Do you think that posts in the Ladies Lounge are more open and honest then posts elsewhere on the board since it is supposed to be women writing to other women? My wife contends that some people support a certain point of view or attitude on the boards because it will get them more attention. For example, a woman might claim that she loves swallowing her lover's cum thinking, and rightly so, that men on the board will see the post and praise her for it. My contention is that people ultimately have little to gain from being dishonest in these forums and so are likely to speak their mind as freely and truly as they would in face-to-face conversation, perhaps even more so. I further held that the Ladies Lounge might also encourage women to be more open and frank in their discussions with each other. But is this negatively affected if the women posting there know that men are lurking in the shadows, so to speak?

Pragma 12-02-2004 12:34 PM

I used to read it - back when I first joined oh so long ago. However, I kept having to restrain myself from jumping into threads and giving my opinion, so I finally decided I wouldn't visit it anymore - and haven't been back sense.

However, there were a lot of very interesting discussions I remember reading ;)

Redlemon 12-02-2004 12:36 PM

I read there constantly, sometimes intentionally, sometimes by coincidence (I usually surf via the 'new posts' button at the top, and that includes the LL). It doesn't turn me on any more than the rest of the discussion forums on this board ;).

Disagree with that -- It's not a private forum. I, personally, wouldn't say anything i there, that I wouldn't say anywhere else. I honestly don't think people are any more honest or open in there just because it's women. It's more of an exhibitionistic type forum because women can talk- -but don't get feedback from the men.

runtuff 12-02-2004 12:42 PM

turned on?? ehh?? what??? Am I supposed to be?? better recheck things hmmm

Seriously, read new posts, and new posts are new posts, but rarely spend more than a passing through amount of time.

Bill O'Rights 12-02-2004 12:43 PM

Truthfully...I try to stay the hell out of there. It...frightens me. It reminds me of when I used to hang with a pack of "gal pals", and I was the only guy in the group. I was constantly having to remind them; "Hey! Guy here!"
The only time I read a Ladies Lounge thread is when I accidently trip over it while browsing "New Posts". That said, the one that the ladies have going now about which hot women celebrities they'd like to "do" is kind of a turn on. Other than that...uh-uh, no way.

vox_rox 12-02-2004 12:46 PM

I read posts there regularly for two reasons.

first of all, some of the problems that are posted there by women are not problems or situations that only women need help with. Secondly, the more I understand about what is important to women, the better I can be as a man.

This sounds a little strange perhaps, but I have always been very in touch with my feminine side, and I th9ink of myself as more of a feminist than many women I know. I may not have the answers, but I'm trying, and aren't we all on the same side when all is said and done.

I guess a third reason would be that I do find some of the sexual conversations to be eye-opening at times, but if I really wanted to talk sex, I'd go to the sexuality forum where I can particpate.

That's all.

Peace,

Pierre

I agree with Mal here. I'm just as open and honest there as I am on the rest of the board.

Glory's Sun 12-02-2004 12:51 PM

I very very rarely go in there. I figure most girls will say what they want to say out here as well. Alot of the women here provide enough of a turn on without having to go into the lounge.

SirSeymour 12-02-2004 12:55 PM

Every now and then when the top post in there that shows on the main page hits my curious button, but not as a general rule.

bbbbbb555 12-02-2004 01:03 PM

i look at the new posts there sometimes. i dont really get aroused, but i learn things sometimes i guess.

some of the stuff that is interesting i show to my girlfriend, which is good because it is stuff that she might not know or even think about.

Coppertop 12-02-2004 01:05 PM

I read posts there all the time.

tenchi069 12-02-2004 01:16 PM

I have and do read through a few of the posts, but mostly to see what the female perspective on <thread topic> is.

aurigus 12-02-2004 01:58 PM

Every now and then... but not too often really.

Same here ;)

radioguy 12-02-2004 02:56 PM

i'll pop in there once a week or so. i go in there more for education than arousal. i've picked up some tips from reading some of the ladies posts. thanks.

ShaniFaye 12-02-2004 02:59 PM

I dont post anything there that I wouldnt post anywhere else.....but then I dont really think anybody here believes im not an extremely open person

Cimarron29414 12-02-2004 02:59 PM

I probably read as much in the LL as anywhere else in the board. There are many reasons:

1) Discussions sometimes touch on issues that would bore the hell out of most men. They are useful, none the less, when relating with a significant other.
2) Because I have a minor in Human Factors, the group dynamics in the LL is easier to follow because there are less people. Sorry if that makes you all feel as if you are in an ant farm. It fascinates me to watch a thread's role assignments, relationship repair techniques, and general conflict resolution.
3) It is rare to be able to see a group of women interact EXCLUSIVELY - (Sex in the City is scripted and can be taken worth a grain of salt from what I have witnessed in the LL.)

As to it "turning me on", I would say....sometimes - not because of the voyeur aspect of it. There are certain members that seem to have a sexual persona that is similar to mine. So, those people typically push the right buttons. "Gaping vaginas?" Ummmm, not so much a turn on. (See item 1 in above list.)

With SOME issues discussed, I think there is an inherent deficiency in limiting a discussion to a gender. In the LL, the relatively few regulars have developed such a strong sense of empathy for one another that, often, I feel as if people don't hear the responses they need to hear. However, when watching my ant farm, often the ants don't place the grain of sand where I would have put it. Then I think, "I'm no ant, what the hell do I know."

I think it would be cool if the LL would allow a male to initiate a thread, and let the women comment on it. The contribution of the male would be limited to the original post via a thread request list. Let's face it, we would all love to post a question up to the opposite sex and let it take off on its own. There was a recent thread discussing the lack of involvement in the LL lately and one theorized that all the subjects had been asked and answered. Why not allow males to suggest new discussion threads?

Oh, and pillow fights. Pillow fights would be good too.

Yes, the current suggestion of asking (PM, email) a lady and having her post it is kinda weak.

I'm a 'new post' surfer as well and end up in the LL from time to time. Some of the topics have been kinda hot but some are ones I wish I wouldn't have stumbled upon.

BTW, Pinkie - I love your Panty Pen Pal idea! Too bad the other ladies don't seem to be going for it. Make it happen! I'm sure most of the fellas in here would appreciate it.

Definitely read it from time to time, although I don't recall much turning me on. Mostly I just find it interesting; helps to understand the other half of the world.

Thats the whole point if you ask me. Take pictures of yourself in panties, send them to another girl, then she takes pictures. Post pictures. Men droll over the pictures. It'll turn into a popularity contest and turn TFP into something that I'd hate to see. So I hope nothing comes of it. If any of the girls want to take pictures of themselves in undies go ahead (hell, I semi did that myself once), but the whole trading aspect turns it into some weird Penthouse thing. Yack.

And now I'm going to go back to crunching on granola and wearing flannel, cause that was quite the little feminist type rant wasn't it?

I hear what you're saying, Averett. Maybe it would make it more interesting/funny if it were open to everyone. From what I've read, I'm sure there are some male TFP'ers that would wear Pinkies panties and post pics of it. Then it won't be degrading to women, it'll be equally degrading to everyone :D

Averett 12-02-2004 04:46 PM

Of course there would!

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like this place is turning into a really crappy singles bar lately :|

Anyway! As far as Men viewing the Ladies Lounge, I think it's a good idea. There are tons of things that men could learn from reading what us ladies have to say. As far as getting turned on... Well, if you like yeast infections, gaping vaginas and lumps coming out, then the Ladies Lounge is for you!

Cadwiz 12-02-2004 04:50 PM

When I first joined, I read NO MEN ALLOWED. So, I just stayed the hell out. Still haven't been in there.

K-Wise 12-02-2004 04:57 PM

I checked out the "My Type" thread in there to see what kinda guys girls are really into and I saw Brad Pitts dick! :|. Safe to say I'm a little hesitent to venture back in there again even for educational purposes.

Asta!!

slimshaydee 12-02-2004 05:24 PM

Rarely do I read it and no I won't get turned on by girls talking about menstrual cycles and the like.

joeb1 12-02-2004 05:35 PM

I probably read it as much as any of the other forums.

There are some subject lines I will not click on for fear of hurting my virgin mind. Naaa.. I find some of the conversations enlightening. I just don't post there. big no no from what I can tell.

boredom 12-02-2004 06:41 PM

um i think this phrase equates me entering Ladies Lounge
"Bite, Hiss, Claw, Fang; what it worked for the undead bovine priest"

Are you guys allowed to start topics elsewhere in reference to LL?

Mods??

Suave 12-02-2004 08:05 PM

I read it if I see an interesting last topic (which most of them are), but turned on? Like what, by your "guys and blood" thread?

Nah, I do find it very interesting though, and have a tough time keeping my meddling index finger from clicking the "reply" button.

Pinkie: Yeah, we're allowed to. Or we can PM female persons and ask them to post in LL for us. (taken from the rules thread)

Carno 12-02-2004 08:11 PM

I read the LL a lot. Usually only after I've read every board and there's nothing new to read. I don't really like to read the LL though, because it's a little frustrating when I read something and want to comment, but I can't.

I usually only read it because there's nothing else to read though. I don't read it to learn more about the way women think or what not. I have 5 sisters, ages 17, 21, 22, 25 and 30, so I have been exposed to women and their ways of thinking my whole life. There have been more than a few times where I read something in the LL that I REALLY wished I hadn't though...

Things that make my spine shiver.

imkeen 12-02-2004 08:48 PM

I go in there occasionally to peruse potentially insightful topics on the subject of women, but I can't call it a habit. More of an occasional need for deeper understanding...

The one on new sex toys got my attention though...

K-Wise 12-02-2004 08:55 PM

I was a little tempted to reply when the ladies were talking about how they wish they could have balls for one day just to get kicked in them to see if it "really hurts as bad as guys say it does" If you must know you don't have to KICK someone in the balls to for it to hurt really bad. You simply have to brush against them ruffly and it will hurt like hell...ya know just whats the word "graze" them. I can't think of any other body part that can cause so much pain...Maybe the eye...they're a lot more sensitive though I mean ya can't go blind from getting poked in the nuts....hmm:hmm:

Asta!!

I think your wife has a valid point. Now, obviously I can't prove anything, but I'd guess that women AND men "embellish" things here and there.

I agree with you about the LL - I know I'm not as "open" as I could be knowing that 1) men read it, and 2) my husband reads it. ;)

Pretty much this whole site is a gentleman's lounge. I know that I personally will talk as freely around this mongrel crowd of guys and ladies as I would in a strict sausage factory.

I read it. Turned on? Not so often, 'cause y'all don't talk about sex stuff all that much. Or at least, not about sex stuff that's a turn-on. :) I still don't "get" why a GYN visit is so unpleasant. Guess I gloss over the tissue sampling parts. I just can't imagine the whole situation, really. Maybe a visit to a urologist is necessary for me to get a clue.

I won't. No matter what, it's still mixed company. Using the "C" word is a bad idea here.

I have sexual issues I won't talk about with just anyone. Would you like to talk about that major chafing issue you had, and what you did about it? There are a few issues similar to what the ladies have talked about with regard to the care and maintenance of their feminine parts which are stuff most guys don't want to hear about, and they certainly don't want to share them with women!

I'm not talking about the fun stuff such as "how I masterbate" or whatever. THOSE topics appear to be wide open. :)

filtherton 12-03-2004 12:37 PM

I don't really read it that much. I accidentally posted in it once, and had to put on the self imposed dunce cap for a while. What i do read doesn't really turn me on, at most it's food for thought.

Daoust 12-03-2004 12:54 PM

I peruse it's pages every so often. It's contents have never brought me to the peak of sexual excitement, nor has it brought to my attention scores of new information that theretofore I had no clue about. But I always always do find it interesting being a fly on the wall to a conversation held by a group of women, just to really get an idea of what they think, how they relate to each other... It's an interesting social study.
I agree with a previous poster that the rest of TFP is a Gentlemans lounge. I mean, the TB and Exhibition their audience is mostly male, I'd say. The TB receives more attention and fanfare than the Full Monty...
I admit however, that I check out all the threads, even the ones intended for women. I like checking out a penis or two... maybe jsut to compare with mine.

Prince 12-03-2004 01:30 PM

I've read it a few times. I don't get turned on by it, though, most of the time the topic of conversation moves between bashing men and some clothing they bought. I don't really give a shit about either subject matter.

I don't feel like a voyeur. It's nice that the ladies have a section where they can say what they really think and not have to worry about getting unwanted input from men. I only wish we guys had the same luxury.

sammy776 12-03-2004 01:38 PM

I check it out every once in awhile. not bad. I dont get turned on by it much but some of the prove my point that women are pervs also

pinkie 12-03-2004 01:45 PM

But I dont think, in principle, its nice to go into a place where you arent supposed to be, so I probably wouldnt... unless I found out there was a thread in there with all the girls talking about me.. I might want to sneakily check that out... but lets face it, that is very unlikely!

well some women are, some men are... while I do accept there are fundamental emotional differences between men and women, I think it is fair to say some people are pervs and some are not!

I have occasionally read thing there, simply because the 'New Posts' title caught my eye and intrigued me. For the most part I stay away, for the same reason I used to stay out of my roommates bedrooms when I shared apartments. Everyone needs a little space to call their own, and that's the space of the ladies of the tilted forum. :)

I looked in there when I first got here.

Haven't been back. Guns and porn! That's the ticket.

RogueHunter65 12-03-2004 04:41 PM

I have read a few things but its really only when I see a new post that intrigues me. For instance, ill be looking down the list and see something thats says "....men do this" or something. I read it to inform me of things ladies dont like that men do. Other than that I let you ladies have all the privacy you need.

Chuckles 12-03-2004 04:59 PM

yea i read it :)

SecretMethod70 12-03-2004 08:13 PM

I read the Ladies Lounge. Haven't learned anything new from it and too be honest I don't find it all that particularly different or intriguing. But, gotta keep an eye out for the rule breakers ;)

On occassion I lurk thru to see what crosses the female mind. I must admit there are certain ladies whose opinions and thoughts I enjoy reading. As a male it only makes sense to try to understand the female thought process. What better way is there.

Turned on?? Only occassionally!

The only time I read a Ladies Lounge thread is when I accidently trip over it while browsing "New Posts". That said, the one that the ladies have going now about which hot women celebrities they'd like to "do" is kind of a turn on. Other than that...uh-uh, no way.

I have the same issue. So I don't bother.

I used to read it often, just to keep an eye on ya'll, until I read posts that were from an old friend, and it kinda wierded me out, so now I try to stay out of there.

I come here about once every two weeks. I mainly lurk just to find out some info about various topics. Like why did *insert girl's name here* decide it's a good idea to share our sex life with her friends? Or, why did *ex-girlfriend's name here* think I would want to know about her new life with a new guy in a different country? I guess mainly it's just to try to comprend the opposite sex and why I struggle with you fine ladies. Some of the answers and discussion are very enlightening; keep up the good work!

We will!!! ;)

I read it and have been known to get turned on by some of the topics. The thought of women discussing anything sexual is enough to get me going regardless. So seeing it in print is a big turn on, if the topic is right.

I like the idea of secretly listening to a conversation about sex between girls. Does that make me a voyeur?

Same here.

And what the hell is the point, if guys are reading it anyhow?

I read in there all the time. information is knowledge and knowledge is King. I like to confirm what I already know about women and learn new things about them, too. Why should I feel like a voyeur? If I shouldn't view the forum then I should be allowed to access to it.

Because their input isn't allowed?

Dawson70 12-04-2004 07:20 PM

Ya...I read it! There I said it.........

But only incase I run into one of you ladies one day.....I'll know your secret desires...............ha ha ha

Nah...just kidding. Just bored usually but somewhat educational.

noblejr 12-04-2004 09:24 PM

I ocasionally visit. My favorite LL post was

"WHAT'S THE STRANGEST THING YOU'VE EVER PUT IN THERE?"

I think it needs to be revived. :)

blar 12-04-2004 11:03 PM

well when i see that an interesting thread that was just posted show up beside the forum title i will pop in to see what the talk is about....in one thread i wanted to join in on the discussion soooo bad it was really intriguing

but other then that i don't browse through it

aphroditeskiss1 12-05-2004 03:51 AM

Wow...I didn't realize so many guys read our stuff...makes me wonder if I should be more careful about what I post. Either way, I enjoy it and think it's alot of fun. It would be interesting to lurk in the Gentleman's Lounge if it exisisted. Find out more about the inner workings of guys heads.
