What happens if you shave and accidentally cut yourself? Yeah I know it stupid but I don't shave and I especially do not put sharp thing near my under-the-belt-area. But I keep hearing it good. So how would you go with your first shave down there?

thebeat 12-16-2007 10:05 AM

Use a warm wash cloth, hold it down there for a few minutes, grab some shaving cream, and go at it, but do please be careful :)

spiderman 02-01-2008 03:48 PM

I use a regular razor everywhere

itsnick 02-03-2008 11:40 PM

Shavers

Just remember shavers that it goes from smooth to scratchy in a day or two and apparently that ain't too hot on your gal's clit ... I shave cupla times a month, balls, shaft and back to the butt.. ..

akdem 03-17-2008 04:53 PM

Should men shave downstairs?

I was just wondering what the general consensus is. Do most women seem to prefer shaved, trimmed, or unshaven pubic hair? My girlfriend shaves, and I didn't know if that meant I should probably do the same, although I do trim...

PonyPotato 03-17-2008 04:58 PM

I personally prefer trimmed. Shaved? Prickly and a bit creepy. Totally ungroomed? Fine most of the time, but hair caught in labia can be a bit painful sometimes. That's why I trim or shave myself. ;)

Why don't you ask your girlfriend what her opinion is?

Sultana 03-17-2008 05:47 PM

Another vote for trimmed here....

settie 03-17-2008 06:12 PM

Trimmed. I agree about shaven being creepy, and prickly. Ungroomed is fine, but I think it takes away from the... main feature. :suave:
A little trim looks great. ;)

Willravel 03-17-2008 06:21 PM

If you're a competitive swimmer? Shave it.
Are you on a deserted island? Don't touch it.
Otherwise? Just trim it.

snowy 03-17-2008 06:24 PM

It should be under control. I totally made fun of my SO when we first got together cause he had some kind of crotch jungle thing going on. But I also don't care for a complete absence of hair; I don't like the friction.

KellyC 03-17-2008 06:24 PM

I shave and trim.
It feels nice and that's good enough for me.

miko 03-17-2008 06:40 PM

Shave the boys, shave the shaft, and trim the afro.
That's my motto.

I like my dreads...

Titan_Uranus 03-17-2008 11:31 PM

smooth criminal.

creepysusie 03-17-2008 11:59 PM

I don't know ...
shaving just.... it wigs me out. I guess a trim is ok, as long as it is not too obvious. But everyone has their own preference.
Hairlessness creeps me out though.

Roark 03-18-2008 02:34 AM

I shave the boys and trim everything else... I figure I like it when a woman takes care of herself it's only fair I do the same.

abaya 03-18-2008 04:00 AM

I'm all about the trimming, for both me and my husband. The beard trimmer on his electric shaver is AWESOME for that. Any actual shaving, though, is not really worth the effort, in my opinion... it feels itchy to me after a couple of days, personally. And waxing is definitely not necessary (unless we both do it together, then I'm fine with it)... neat, clean hair is good!!

Psycho Dad 03-18-2008 04:16 AM

I'd prefer myself to not shave, but often do as that is what my wife enjoys.

Not that I would care if he did trim his beard with that, but he doesn't have a beard anyway! :)

I like the look and feel, and think the girlfriend appreciates it too since she doesn't have to worry about hair in the mouth (and me either... the stopping the BJ to pull the pube out of the mouth is always a mood killer). I really wish it would stay smooth longer than a day though. Maybe I need to wax, but.... OUCH!

levite 03-18-2008 03:19 PM

Don't need to shave my shaft, but Lord knows I would if I did! Yikes!!

Personally, I use my beard trimmer (yes, the same one I use on my beard) to keep the lawn and the hedge short down in Johnsonville. Can't take the notion of shaving-- seems weird to me. But trimming is good. Less shedding when the gf gives me head, too....

whatever1 03-18-2008 03:50 PM

Like everyone else, the boys are shaved nicely. I love the feel of having her rub the smooth boys. I do have to trim the shaft around the base. I also will keep the fro controllable.

Remember, keeping the fro in check gives the extra appearance of an inch or so

Mister Coaster 03-18-2008 06:26 PM

I keep the bat and balls clean, and also trim the outfield on a regular basis.

However, every time I trim the field a little more, then a little more until I simply get rid of it all. It just makes me feel incredibly turned on and ready to go. I'll go completely bare for a while, then let it grow out a bit and start over.

Kahn 03-19-2008 01:40 AM

I trim with my beard trimmer, same one I use on my face. I figure, if I am showered when I trim, and I am the only one using it, who should care. The wife really appreciates not having to rake through a jungle bush to get her treat and it kills the mood when she has to stop and cough up a stray pube like a kitten tossing out a hairball during oral. Total mood killer. Shaving is just not my style, but I ain't knocking it either.

+5, but I'd also like to add "shave the taint".

LoganSnake 03-19-2008 05:38 AM

Too scared to shave my balls. Nicking them is not my idea of a fun time. Trim everywhere though.

Jenna 03-19-2008 11:33 AM

I don't think the shaved look is good at all. But, trimming depends. My guy doesn't because he's not a very hairy guy, and he's got lighter hair anyways. However, if a guy has really dark hair and lots of it, trimming is definitely good.

And, I guess before my guy I always stayed pretty far away from balls. But, my boyfriend basically is hairless on his balls because in college he slid on a soapy dorm hallway slip-n-slide. And, forever they were chafed, with no hair growth. Haha.

mixedmedia 03-19-2008 11:40 AM

I've said it before, but no guy need shave nary a hair for me. I love hair. It's a huge turn-on for me.

MuadDib 03-19-2008 12:33 PM

I trim as a matter of courtesy. My feelings on feminine shaving are very strong and, in the spirit of fairness, I hold myself to the same standard. If a woman I'm seeing insists that I don't trim then I suppose I won't, but it's never really come up.

jewels 03-19-2008 12:38 PM

I definitely prefer when he shaves or trims. But I'm good either way, as long as he's clean. And hey, sometimes I don't shave as often in the winter, so if it's okay for me, it sure is okay for him.

World's King 03-19-2008 02:57 PM

I shave upstairs cause that's where my bathroom is.

Oh...

The crotch...

Sure.

savmesom11 03-19-2008 06:55 PM

I shave because I don't want my bf coughing up a hairball, he shaves because he understands the same....I also like it when his hair is growing back slightly....turns me on big time. A big afro puff of hair, yeah......yuk! Not only do I not want to look at all of that, but I sure don't want to suck on it....

I definitely agree with MM to a certain degree... it's just the length that gets me at certain times. Trimming is nice, but no shaving to the skin for me.
Getting "beard burn" is bad enough on my face after a long weekend that he doesn't shave, elsewhere it SUCKS.

Wow. For how long was he out-of-commission following this incident?

Milnoc 03-20-2008 06:54 PM

I'm pretty hairy all over, especially at the front. Once long ago, I tried trimming down my body hair to the minimum to see if that would be an improvement. It wasn't. And my ex made sure I knew about it! She wanted her huggy bear back! :D

I can't shave down there at all. It's too sweaty, I get a rash, and the stubble becomes so itchy that it distracts me. I don't mind trimming it down however, as long as it's not down to the "itchy" zone which is below an inch in length.

Who knows. I wasn't dating him then. But, it's kind of nice now.

Pubic Trimming Issue

So I am a trimmer of the pubes and have been battling against ingrown hairs along my belt line. They can pop up anytime. Right after a trim or weeks after a trim.

I know how to handle them once they are there, but I was wondering if anyone had any tricks/products on preventing them?
