I totally think Luongo has many more great years in him. I'm a Flames fan through and through, but after they were out my focus shifted to cheering for Vancouver and Ottawa, and now that Vancouver is out, Ottawa all the way. I really want the Cup back in Canada. I know even when a US team wins it, 75% of the players are Canadian anyways, but it's just not the same. I definitely don't want Anaheim getting it because of Pronger, have a bit of a beef with him after the Edmonton situation (or a beef with his wife I should say haha). Anyways, can't wait for the game on Thursday, let's go Cens!

I am in agreeance. I do think though that a penalty should have been given to him in order to justify the suspension. The excuse was that Pronger is just too tall. Bullshit. I have it out for Pronger though since the whole Edmonton fiasco. I think a penalty should have been called and the suspension given after that. Right now I'm all for Ottawa, bring the Cup back to Canada, where we actually care!!! (Even though it ends up here since a majority of the players on any given American team are of Canadian decent...)

Senators in the final?! What could piss a Leafs fan off more than another Montreal cup win than the Senators being crowned the Stanley Cup champions? Watch from the sidelines, Leafers, as a non-Toronto Ontario team gets to be where no Maple Leafs team has been in 40 years - the Stanley Cup final.

I'm reading this welll after Ottawa lost the finals and I must admit, I got a chuckle out of it.

My attitude exactly mirrors that of every Leaf fan. If any Canadian team were in the finals except for TO, I would cheer for them.

If the Leafs ever made it to the finals which is a good many decades off as it is, ya know what, I wouldn't waste my time watching them either.

Leaf fans are a bunch of their own, a special breed. It takes alot of balls to support a perrenial bunch of losers year in and out.

Me, I like winners not losers. I also like the new style of the game. Skill, speed, style and a bucket full of creativity and talent. Something the LEAFS will never have as long as they think the perfect model of hockey foresight is modelling themselves after the Broad Street Bullies of the 70's

They will never get it, especially when they are losing by 2 or more goals with a period and a half to play.You don't go goony gaggah and take more penalties. You play hard to try and get back in the game.

But for that you need a qualified GM, a coach that can control his players temperament, scouts that are not looking for the next Ken Linesman (aka Darcy Tucker) gosh,,..so old and 1970ish thinking and players that have a clue what a gameplan is.

But when you add it all up, the Leafs will never change,..and for non-Leaf fans that is excellent.

And for those who dabble in the odd bet,..here's a sure thing every time. When the Leafs play their second or third game on a road trip, pretty much anywhere, bet the over. You'll win everytime.

And before I forget. Leafs suck big time.

I often wonder why a team like the Mighty Ducks can put together the winning formula so quickly, while Les Blanc et Bleu spends 40 years in the wilderness. Is it ownership? How can it be? we blamed Ballard for that. Then Stavros. Now the Teachers.

Broad Street Bullies? I wish we were that good. So far the only satisfaction that we got has been the total ownership of the arrogant Sens (team & fans) in previous playoffs. But that's a pretty negative outlook and old history.

(#21 - Salming) and I refuse to do so until they shape up. I have never attended a game at the ACC, and will not do so until they bring their prices in line with what the average person can afford (i.e. ...never).

I'm not a bandwagon jumper. I have never given up on the hometown team. But for the love of God, I wish they would give me a reason to wear my jersey again!!

Funny I used to be a Leaf fan also way back when I was a kid. Gary Leeman, Rick Vaive etc.

But I got older and moved away from that style altogether.

I hate Darcy Tucker not because he is a good hockey player,,...but because he is the rebel rouser. He can hold his own without the fake dives and the sideshow.A dying breed my friend. Kinda a wasted talent. The ever evolving league will use the "shit disturber" tag and outlaw it,...very much a precursor to banning fighting.

Fan favourite Chris Neil adapted his game and did a good job. Very disciplined. That type of player is in demand. Kills penalties, relentlessly forechecker, can put the puck on any stick as well as in any net and can fight. Don Cherry would say, "Beauty."

The Habs clinched a playoff spot last night beating Ottawa 7-5 (the score was 7-1 going into the 3rd).
Only 3 teams have clinched a spot in the Playoffs so far - Habs, Redwings, and Sharks.

Who is going to make it into the playoffs and who is going to fall off?
Which Canadian teams will make it?

I don't think Toronto is going to make it. I believe that Ottawa will remain in.

In the West I think that Calgary will be in and that Edmonto will make it in but it may be becuase Vancouver falls off.

Go Leafs Go, Go Leafs Go, but realistically, they wait until too late in the season to pull their heads out of their collective asses and start playing hockey, as much as I love the leave and bleed blue, it would look good on them not to make the playoffs, maybe then they can play a whole fuckin season of good hockey, rather than having a circle jerk for the first 3/4 of it.

Leafs effectively fucked after losing to the Bruins tonight.

At least you don't have to carry your slow gasping death to the playoffs like the Canucks do this year.
