A-Rod attacked by hawk

Not sure if this should go in sports but even though I am a big Yankee fan I thought that this was very unusual and wonder if it would even be a headline if it weren't for the coincidence that the girls name was Alexa Rodriguez and her age was 13 (A-rods #)

I wonder if she'll be in the stands the first time the Yanks play the Sox this season.

the hawk wasn't removed from fenway... the nest with one egg was and it's being tended to by an animal rehab center...

the hawk was back for opening day and dropped a dead mouse on fans at the visitors dugout side... BOMBS AWAY!!!

however, on a more serious note regarding curses, hexes and underhanded paranormal feelings of angst, we have this gem...

Quote:
April 11, 2008...

The new Yankee Stadium may be cursed!

A devilish Boston fan working on a concrete crew at the $1.3 billion stadium covertly buried a Red Sox T-shirt under what will become the visiting team's locker room to jinx the Yanks, two construction workers told The Post yesterday.

"In August, a Red Sox T-shirt was poured in a slab in the visitor's clubhouse. It's the curse of the Yankees," one worker said. "Nobody knows about it. It's in the floors, it's buried."

The workers say they now fear that they unwittingly helped hex their beloved Bronx Bombers.

"I don't want to be responsible for sinking the franchise," said a second worker, who witnessed the sabotage. "I respect the stadium."

The Post has withheld their identities because they are not authorized to speak to media.

This latest hex is above and beyond any typical ritual - like wearing a lucky shirt or hat - that fans typically do to boost their luck.

"It sounds a little unprecedented to me," said Tim Wiles, director of research at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown.
so the talons are out in the storied, fabled, and no holds barred rivalry...

let the games begin!!!

This same construction worker called a Boston radio station after getting back to town to brag about this when it first happened. This was last year. When the call was originally made most people laughed it off, until it came out again this year. Now it gets interesting.....seems when the original call was made the caller said a jersey and a hat were buried. So there's still a hat unaccounted for. BWAHAHAHA. Go Sox!

Well, the Ortiz jersey sold for $175,100 last week, proceeds to charity, and the winner will receive it on the field at a Sox game later this season.

I bet you could get $500k for the hat by Christmas, if you can find it...
