Notre Dame fans
 

I am curious, obviously Notre Dame is very popular on a national level, but why ?

Why do you like Notre Dame ? please also include whether you attended ND or not.

as this can easily, and likely will, turn into a bash ND thread...please refrain. I am not trying to find out why people hate them, only why so many people show so much allegiance to a school that they likely did not attend.

I'm not a fan of ND, but they do have the most wins or the best win% or something in history.

so are you saying that people root for them because they win..... like a bunch of long-term band wagon jumping front runners ?

Many Catholics support Notre Dame because its a Catholic school.

My dad is an ND fan. We would always watch the games on TV. So I guess I picked it up from him.


A good friend of mine went to ND for graduate school. I was so jealous :(

Michigan has the most wins, by a fair amount also. People like Notre Dame because they are a good catholic team.

Yeah, i just seen this stat a few weeks ago, Michigan has 804-5? somthing like that, ND was still in the high 700's, and i belive Nebraska was right behind ND.
