Anyone else see that slapshot hit the devils captain in the head? And its 1 - 0 just now..

I caught that! Just a few minutes into the first period. Puck to the face, and he went down hard.

Too things surprised me, one that he got up as quick as he did (with some help) and two that they have actual guys with shovels that come out and remove the blood from the ice. Very efficient.

Seems the guy got lucky, hit him in the ear area, probably hit the ring that the straps hang off of and helped protect his head somewhat, still pretty nasty and i was even suprised he was concious after that.

Reminded me of that ringing Sammy Sosa got... I think I could take a hit like that with a helmet on for a few million per year.

And gotta love the ice crews, I remember when Brett Hull got a really bad cut a few years back while still in Dallas... not only was I cheering because he is a pretty boy-smartass and deserved it... but there were like 4 guys out there wiping the ice down. For the rest of the period there was stilla big red spot on the ice. Now that is is just quality entertainment!

i was there, and i missed it, i was looking at the other side of the ice, but kubina hit him.

The ice crew came out and it took them a bit of time to clean up the mess, bags of just bloody ice.

BUT THE LIGHTNING WON!!!

I wouldn't mind going to a game but i think the tickets are all gone.

Stevens took 30 stiches to have his leaking stopped.
