Will A-Rod be traded in the offseason?

With his no trade and that $25 million per year price tag I would guess that the only teams that could possibly take him on are the ny teams (though i suspect he would use the no trade against the mets since they don't seem too close to winning it all) boston. I don't think the yanks are interested, but maybe boston? Arod for Manny? Arod for Nomar if the sox could get rid of manny somewhere else? I dunno. As much as i think Arod is the best player in baseball for that pricetag someone could get Millwood (sp?) and colon maybe.

I would take the pitchers any day in that deal.

No way he is staying put

a rod for manny

are fucking mad

the redsox would be nuts

hell the almost made the series this year
how the hell you gona trade away one of your best players

then again it would not be the frist tiem the redsoxs did something like that

Personally, Nomar can go for A-rod. He's just as good defensivly, and puts up bigger numbers, just a better offensive weapon. 40 jacks 130 rbi's a year. Not even a contest in my mind.

Only a few clubs can afford him, Cubs, Yankers, Mets, Boston, LA, the big market teams.

I've heard Baltimore in the mix. They have 40+ million to spend this offseaon, plus bad contracts coming off next year. Texas would definatly pick up salary, and the Orioles have obscene amounts of pitching talent in their system.

Well, I think the Sox, Arod, Manny, and Nomar are gonna be all shit out of luck. The Marlins, Diamondbacks, and Angels all have proven that speed and pitching wins nowadays. I would take Millwood in a heartbeat if I were Epstein. Manny needs to go, but it is doubtful anyone would take his sorry ass. Nomar needs to stay. He's the most beloved player Boston has seen since Ray Bourque or Larry Bird.

Boston is not interested - not for that price. Boston has alot of free agent issues of their own to deal with this year.

And event the New York teams understand the value of twenty-five million. Sure, the Rangers would eat some of it. But you can get three darn good players for that much per year.

The economies-of-scale won't allow for it. A-Rod goes nowhere in a buyers market.

Yeah, like the other guy said, how can you forget the Orioles? -_-.

There was a reportedly proposed deal where the Sox get A-Rod, the Angels get Nomar, and the Rangers get Eckstein and a bunch of pitching.

I think that Baltimore has the money and the need to get him, especially if he can be gotten for pitching prospects and if Texas keeps some of the salary.

If Piazza demands a trade, as speculated in Newsday, I can see Wilpon making a push for A-rod. Wilpon has Steinbrener-envy in the worst way and I doubt he can stick to the rebuilding plan. No way Wilpon fields a team without a stud player. But having said that I doubt A-rod goes anywhere.
