				The dark period in sports
After the Pro Bowl, but before the NBA/NHL playoffs, I think of as the darkest part of the year in sports. March Madness offers a brief respite, but I don't get into it all that much, and the office doesn't have a real pool. Spring training? Who cares, there're 160 games in the season. Not even golf or tennis, really. Only good thing is the swimsuit edition. So what do ya'll do to occupy the time spent normally watching sports? Does anyone get into the other sports that maybe I'm just missing? I'm curious. |

Seriously though, I won't be happy until the beginnign of March when ywo major events happen: the ACC touurnament, 50th anniversery edition, followed by the Terrapins winning the NCAA tournament; and the Orioles start Grapefruit League baseball.

| Psycho Location: Sinaloa, Mexico | Man I hate that time too. Usually around this time my friends and I have Madden tournaments with fantasy drafts. The stats have gone through the final season updates and the games are a lot more fun than ESPN with nothing but baseball.

| Gastrolithuanian Location: low-velocity Earth orbit | Hail Sports Starved Refugees! There are only 9 more days until Astros pitchers and catchers report to Kissimmee, Florida. It will not be long before my television/radio/computer issues forth the sweet sounds of baseball. Due to the Astros inability to ever win a playoff series I must savor all 162 games of the regular season. Maybe this year it will last longer. -GH |

| Baltimoron Location: Beeeeeautiful Bel Air, MD | Geez...all this hating on baseball. I mean, the best part of the year IS August through October, when both baseball and football are going and there is nothing else important happening, but that doesn't mean the rest of the baseball season is boring or anything.

| Junkie Location: Michigan | I think the darkest time in sports is when there is no football or basketball =\ Not a fan of baseball personally. Just can't get into it. Doesn't help im a big hometown fan, and I live near detroit, but still, I just can't watch an entire baseball game without changing the channel.

| absolute relativist Location: D.C. | My feeling on baseball are very seasonal. It is 20 freaking degrees here today in My Nations Capital so I can't wait for baseball because that means warmth and O's games and summer nights with overpriced cold beer. By end of July, when the orioles are 15 games out and losing 3 0f 4 to Detroit I am like baahhh. Bring on the Ravens.

| is KING! Location: On the path to Valhalla. | I tend to go into a sports coma and come out of it for the NFL Draft. Then I go back to sleep until the NFL preseason. Then the Saints start having yet another shitty year and I give up on football until two crappy teams I don't even care about go to the Superbowl. And the whole damn cycle starts over again! |
