There's talk now about how teams that let go A-Rod have done better without him. Maybe in Texas's case it has more to do with what they got for him in return.

there hitting is amazing, blalock and crew are lighting it! I still think there playing above themselves as there pitching will bring them down. i hope not though would be nice to see a team come out of that division other than oakland/anaheim.

Obviously A-Rod is an incredible player, so obviously wouldn't necessarily be better without him....however I think when you have a dominant player, some of the role players are waiting for him to step up. With him gone, the role players realize that if it's going to be done, it's up to them.
Blaylock is maturing.....Soriano is contributing. They may not win the West (Anaheim representing quite well), but they're going to be fun to watch this summer...... ....if the pitching holds.....

I'm not trying to take anything at all from A-Rod's abilities or achievements. He's an absolutely incredible individual player but look at what has happened to Seattle and now Texas after his departure. Makes ya think a bit about his "true" value to a team other than the Yankees/Fort Knox.

Yup, Teams always do better when A rod or Griffey leave.
I woyuld like to see how M. Young is doing in a couple of months from now, to stay at the caliver he is at now would be an impressive feat

Never underestimate how not having the biggest contract in the game affects the clubhouse atmosphere. I live in Dallas, and all everyone talks about is how different the clubhouse is this year. Of course, it helps that they aren't last in the division, but I think that it definitely is a big factor.
