Whooohoohoo! That was a shootout man. Really surprising outcome. Anyways, does this vindicate those writers and coaches that put Texas over Cal, now that Cal was exposed by the Big XIIs 4th best team. You could really see it at about the middle of the third quarter that Cal was getting desperate, they abandoned Arrington, I think if they stuck with him, they would have won, but they're defense just looked awful and that line didn't know which way was up or down. Anyways, I'm lookin forward to a great Rose Bowl and an even better Orange Bowl.

Atleast Texas beat some teams. California beat no one this year. This just proves how overrated they really are.

Being a Big 12 (Oklahoma) Fan I was pleasantly suprised. I picked Cal as one of 2 absolute locks on the bowl schedule. Shows what I know. TTU played extremely well and got a couple of breaks (officiating missed a couple of key holding calls on both sides of the ball). It does make you wonder if 1) Cal was really dissappointed w/ not getting the Rose, 2) Over confident because they felt they were playing an inferior opponent, or 3) hugely overated. They were handicapped without the front line wide recievers. Lots of good football to view over the next few days, but the weather is gorgeous in the Rockies and I have a tee time!! FORE!!!

Haha, man, this made my day in regards to all the Cal fans here and elsewhere that wouldn't stop complaining about their bowl position. Especially certain members named Mobo that attacked everyone in Texas on a certain locked thread. Good times.

Well, considering Cal lacked all of their starting wide receivers and tight ends due to injuries, (their best receiver broke his leg two weeks ago) in addition to a number of defensive backs out due to injuries as well, the game still sucked.

I was there with all my fellow alums and it was truly depressing.

I must also say i was truly impressed by the sheer drunkeness of texas tech fans. I was sitting in front of a few texas tech girls and all they talked about was getting enough smirnoff and truly unbelievable babble. Fingernails on a chalkboard would have been kinder on our ears than those 'ladies'.

But on the bright spot, the half time fireworks display was truly awesome. There was also a flight of 4 F-18s screaming overhead. I dont have attachment privleges yet so i cant post that picture.

I hope no one is really naive enough to believe that this is exclusive to the South. Look at street corners and teenagers everywhere. I hate you burst your bubble but the same things that happen in one city happen in every other city.

California flat out got beat. There is no excuse you can really make to justify the game. Especially since their complaints against the BCS. Although California fans won't admit it, this proves that California is at best a decent team. They definitely are not the great team everyone said they were.

How did you arrive at the conclusion that i said this applies to the entire south? I never said anything like that.

What i said is that it applied to a rather large number of young texas tech fans. The level of determined drunkeness, most particularly among the tech girls was absurd. The older (my generation) tech fans were just cheering and enjoying the game itself.

As i said earlier, one of the greatest concerns that was being voiced all around me by the young tech fans was that the stadium stopped alcohol sales at the end of the 3rd quarter. Our seats, unfortunately, were not in the Cal alumni sections but in and around all the tech fans.

If you think TTU fans can get drunk, go to a Baylor game. Anyways, seeing as how Texas responded with a win at the Rose Bowl, I am quite content in saying that the team that deserved to go, went. Cal would have been killed by Michigan if they had gone. That was a great Rose Bowl, I nearly had a heart attack, but it was a great game.
