TFP built-in IRC client

I know this would require going to whoever programs the bulletin software with a request and hoping for the best, but it would be pretty convenient/spiffy if a webclient for IRC was built into the user control panel here on TFP, with an automated entrance to #TFP on shadowfire.

Actually, we've had a chat button at the top of the forum for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure if Hal intends to add it again, but at the moment, he's trying to keep up with any problems caused by the upgrade, so it may be a little while before it's there again.

my 2 cents...

whilst a 'built-in' chat client is nice in that it makes it 'easier' to get more people into chat...

I *do* think it's a better option, particularly if you plan to spend a bit of time in chat, to use a 'proper' irc client. (mIRC, xchat, etc...google 'irc client')

Um, Hal? Are ya back yet? I've been outta the loop for quite a while. And, one of first things I missed was the handy-dandy chat button [or link, according to which theme/style you've enabled]... Can we get that reinstated?
Using Dark Cloud for curiousity's sake.

Thanks.

I wish for this option to be back when our school computers do not let MIRC connect So now I will have to wait until I get home to properly join in on the fun again.

Same here, just with work rather than school.
