uploading: I need help
 

i've been trying to upload some images to direct here to geocities... but it keeps telling me ivalid names no matter what i name 'em. so, to do pics i need to know of a program i can use to upload images like in FTP.

help? i can use ftp but it being www.geocities.com i've no fuckin clue as to how i could go about using a ftp program.

help!

geocities doesn't allow hotlinking, so it's a futile effort. sorry Whoa. as for hte names, do they have spaces? do they have a file extension?

Uploading Images
 

I've done it once before, but can't seem to find the Upload button - has it disappeared, or have I just forgotten where it is?

don't think there is an upload button.. just put the image properties in between [img]
and [/img]

uploading images is only permitted in specific areas. if the option isn't given in the area you're intending to show an image, then you're gonna have to hotlink the image in from another server somewhere else.

If you are in a forum that allows it, the button name now says "Manage attachments."

OK got it now. I wanted to try something in the Testing Board, but that doesn't have upload abilities - So I went to post in Photography, used the 'Manage Attachments' button to upload, then cancelled the 'New Post'.

Wouldn't it make sense to add 'Manage Attachments' to the Testing Board?

Hmmm, looks like the images I uploaded but didn't post while in Tilted Photography have been auto or manually deleted, leaving gaps on my entries on the Testing Board.

So how do I upload something just for usage on the Testing Board, or is this something we don't want to happen?
