(Seemingly) Simple Question - Save Network settings to Flash Drive?

Is there a way to save my existing wireless network settings to my flash drive?

I know that when setting up a new wireless network, there is an option to save the config onto a flash drive and make it able to automatically apply the settings on a new PC. But is it possible to do so with existing networks?

So far my web searches have proved fruitless. As always, all help is appreciated.

Wow - 36 views and no responses?

Is it just a stupid question or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Not network savvy and not sure if I totally get this, but it may work.

I dont know what you use, but at home I use a linksys router and I use the EasyLink Advisor (a program I d/l) to save my wireless settings (including security information) to my flash stick to transfer to the other computers in the house once I have it set up the way I want

jewels: I did come across that link, but in my current situation I can't just do that.

Thanks Shani.

I'm busy downloading the application now. It just shocks me that windows doesn't have something built-in that can do the same thing.

One of my colleagues in Security, however, said that it is possible in Windows - he just can't remember how. Apparently it's just very counter-intuitive.

36 views and no responses could be caused by a seemingly vague subject line

I was one of them, but didn't have an answer, so nothing to post really.

I'll have to remember that for next time then.

Doesn't explain this one though.

I've never used it but XP does have the function built in

If you select Use a USB flash drive, the Wireless Network Setup Wizard prompts you to insert your UFD so that it can create the XML files for the wireless network configuration, which includes the wireless network name, authentication and encryption methods, and the WEP key or WPA-PSK. If you select Set up a network manually, the Wireless Network Setup Wizard prompts you to print the wireless network settings so that you can take the printed wireless network configuration to each wireless device for manual configuration. Click Next.

Assuming that you want to use a UFD, the Wireless Network Setup Wizard displays the Save settings to your flash drive page, as shown in the following figure.

and yes, more specific thread titles will get you better responses especially when looking for help. I changed the title to help get more responses from our tech savy community.
