Trying to look up a friend without having to pay.
Hi all. Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I'm trying to look up a friend in another state. I've lost touch with her over the years and just want to find her phone number. Using several "people search" web pages I have found her but the sites all want to charge for the info that might not even be current. Is there any truelly free lookup site? Oh, one state to another in the US. Thanks!

I imagine you've tried Facebook etc...
|
I use Spock... and many of the different yellowpages/superpages.
I've found many people without having to pay. |
zaba search works too
|
Hi all, tried Facebook, Spock, etc. Intelius has found her but it's a pay sight.

Alot of business's have an Intellus account for background checks and fact checking on new hires. Perhaps someone with an account could retreive the information for you? Another option might be freinds who work for insurance companies as they have large database access. I suspect that might be a legal grey area at best though... Just a thought. |
I have actually had the same question as this. I was best friends with this girl for about 10 years, dated her for 2 of those years. Then I lost touch with her about 3 years ago, got a new phone, and moved in the meantime. No idea how to get ahold of her now, but i have tried facebook and can't find anything.
look at that, I searched her on zaba and it described her! but all it says is her name and the country she lives in, and her occupation/hobby |
also search for people that may know her, surely someone will be on social networking site or in an online directory
|
blahblah454, same prob here, found her, for sure, but to get a number I have to pay. The number may be old or whatever. I've tried everything I can think of.
It's been ten years so I don't really remember any of her friends names, and I was overseas before that. |
Let me know if you find something that works. I will let you know if I ever find anything.
I actually even stopped by her old house about a month ago, but no one was home. I have never missed anyone like this before. |
I had a little luck with Facebook. I was able to send her an email. Hopefully she gets it.

Sometimes the 'low tech' ways of solving a problem still work best.
Have you tried using Directory Assistance via your phone company (aka 411 or (area code) 555-1212)? Most of the online people search sites will at least give you a city and state for free. If you are relativly sure you have the right person, call DA and ask for the city and state, give their name and as long as the number is not unlisted, they'll give it to you and even dial it for you if you want them too. |
The directory assistance company that I work for actually has a fairly up to date, toll free DA number to call. No ads and you'll get a real person. If you know the city and state, try 8000-411-SAVE (7283).

Sounds good, but what about Canada?
|
I know we handle Canada as well as the US, so I figure they would too, but I've never tried.
