Splitting a long mp3 into tracks

I download quite a few DJ mixes and most of them are uncut, 60+ minute mp3's. Obviously, searching to the middle of the track using anything other than a computer is a bit of a hassle.

I'd like to cut the mp3 into tracks so that I can name and tag the individual songs instead of just having big chunks of sound.

Can you folks recommend some software that will do this as painlessly as possible?

Thanks,
-healer

What he said, except that he forgot to say "for Mac, Windows, and Linux".

Just to clarify regarding Audacity. For each part of the track you want to split, apply a label [ctrl+B]- then choose file->export multiple and you'll end up with separate track with the label as the file name.

I use audacity to split our recorded performance into tracks after concerts - this feature is just fantastic!
