AGP video card stopped working
hello I was just wondering if someone could help me out. I have a DELL{unfortunally} and I had a Radeon 9600 video card in it (agp card) and it decided to stop working. Now I bought another AGP card and installed it ,but,I get nothing. Could it be possibe that the AGP slot went bad. 3 of the condensior things on the old card blew. Is there anyway to check to see if the slot is bad? Right now I am running my monitor from motherboard and can not do any gaming.{which sucks}
thanks for any info that might be helpful |

For future reference you might get more help, or even find more helpful information through a search in the Tilted Technology section. Lasereth is our board's video card go-to guy, so you could always look for his posts.
Hope this gets fixed, though, good luck.

i agree, check your bios for an option that selects pci or agp for video. also, unless its a cheap card, i wouldnt put another card in that slot, because the slot might short out anything that goes into it. does the video card fan turn on? does the video card get detected in bios? try having the agp card installed, but using the integrated video to get into bios, and selecting agp video (it might not accept it as an option if you don't keep it installed).
