pc vs mac and a thumb drive/mp3 player

hey
I have a sansa clip and a sansa thumb drive, I'm on an XP Dell comp.

I'm hoping to use the thumb drive to trade music and movies with friends at work, but they have macs.

I lent my sansa clip to my friend and he said there was nothing in the music folder. of course there is, he was listening to them all day.

I don't know if it's an issue but I know lots of my mp3's don't have id tags. I just drag and drop on my PC and brows by folder on the clip some I have added information when I recorded them in Audacity or while listening to them in winamp I may change the name and add artist name in "file info" within winamp...not sure but I think that is part of the id tag on the mp3 file. but I'm not at all consistent on that.

anyway, what I want out of the thumb drive is just to give my friends some movies and music off my comp without too much hassle. been looking at google results but haven't seen anything yet.

any help or links to school me on this ? thanks

I had a similar problem when my buddy gave me his external USB hd so I could give him some of my music but it didn't show up in my computer or anywhere that I could find.

What format is your thumb drive in?

NTFS?
FAT?

Macs (as far as I know) cannot read an NTFS drive. You could try reformatting your thumb drive in FAT. Note that this will erase all the data currently on the drive so you'll have to reload it after the reformat.

I put a few things on it and it was avalible on my PS3.

Pretty much all *nix will read fat32. Mac OS X is a derivative of darwin last I checked, so they should have no issues.

Most thumb drives are fat32 and they are mac compatible, so it shouldn't be an issue either way.
