I need to get an image of 80x80 pixils under 5k. I save as jpg and gifs and i keep getting 10-15k. Any suggestions? Im using photoshop btw.

You might want to try fiddling with the quality settings and/or colour depth.

Another helpful tool to use is File -> Save for Web

It allows you to change various options regarding your image's quality and format while providing previews and estimated filesizes. Might be what you're looking for!

png might give better results than gif

if photoshops save for the web won't do it, not much will
