problem with my monitor

I can't figure out why but everything on my monitor (sony trinitron 21' g520) keeps vibrating, albeit very slightly, but still annoying. At first I thought it might be the vibrations from my subwoofer that's under my desk, but I turned my speakers off, examined it closely and everything on the monitor was still shaking... checked the cables, they're in as tight as can be. Checked the refresh rate, it's set properly. I don't know which video card setting would help that though... anyone have any ideas?

maybe it's the vibrations from the fan?

Out of curiousity, what is the refresh rate? Did degaussing help? Well, evidently not, you still have the problem, excuse my error, it was just a shot in the vibratory dark.

Try decaf?

Are you using an ATI card? and what resolution you runing? I run an odd resolution with an ATI card and it had problems untill I messed around with the advanced settings. Also, are there any florecent lights around the monitor?

Yup, an ATI Radeon 8500 w/64 mb RAM. 1600*1200 resolution, refresh's set at 100mtz... no flourescent lights in my computer room, just a table lamp and a small desk lamp. maybe I just have to play around with the video card settings...

after a while the tube inside your crt monitor gets a bit loose causing a little buzz (from vibrating). Maybe yours is very loose. if that's the case bring it to a repair shop. you can fix it yourself but its usually not recommended.
