Square One?

Hey guys, this may seem simple but I need any tips I can get.
I have a dell sys with 256ram, 1gh proc, 20 gig HD, CDR.
I run XP.... and here in lays my problem... I had Home XP on the computer, then I tried to upgrade to Pro XP... install failed halfway through... I now have Two OS... not too stable... not to mention it seems to have split my files as well as my drivers etc.
I want to go back to HOME XP... will not let me "Downgrade" ...
How do I go about reinstalling HOME XP without losing everything I have as well as I need basic intstructin on how to reinstall.
Help appreciated. Thanks

Haven't you heard? You can never go back Home.

If you're sure you want to, then I'd backup all important files and then run the restore CD that came with your Dell.

You can spend days trying to untangle the mess or a couple of hours restoring and reinstalling.

Will that get rid of existing OSs? I don't mind going from scratch, just don't wana install yet another OS to join the others....

If you run the restore CD and have it format the drive, you WILL lose all of your data/music/pr0n/etc. but it will leave you with only one operating system.
