Anybody here do DVD authoring?

Hey gang,

I'm looking to try some @home DVD authoring and was looking for some software advise.

I have tried Ulead DVD Workshop .. but I've found it to be FULL of bugs! It is always crashing!! So I'm sick of it!

So if you have some software advice for me, please feel free to post it here. Thanks!

There are several good editors out there. Some good midrange products are:

Ulead Video Studio 7. (Do NOT confuse with Ulead Media Studio 7) This program makes deleting unwanted sequences a snap. Simply click on in and out points and your done. Gives you a decent list of options for transitions, special effects and titles.

Screenblast Movie Studio. No storyboards. Good for the novice, as it uses wizards a lot. It is slower than Ulead Video Studio and Pinnacle Studio 8, but easy to learn and has some cool effects.

Pinnacle Studio 8. Has more authoring capabilities than Video Studio, but the preview window is tiny and of poor quality, which is kind of a nuisance. Has a cool audio mixer which lets you adjust volume at any point on the track, as opposed to just an entire track at once.

Ulead is my favorite of the three, as it is easy to learn and has enough options to get me by. And it is the fastest of the three at rendering, in my experience.

Adobe products are for those who know a little more about what they're doing. If you're looking for more that what is listed above, Adobe products are great but way expensive. You get what you pay for, though.
