It's dead Jim: Am I hosed?
For a while now whenever I reboot I get problems on startup with my video card. Every time I start it up I get infinite loop error and crash.
I can fix this by rebooting in safe mode, uninstall/reinstall the drivers and boot back into regular startup but the next time I need to reboot, infinite loop. I'm starting to think my card is hosed and I should buy a new one, what do you think I should do? Windows XP Home AMD Athlon Xp 2100+ 1.74ghz 512mb DDR nVidia GEforce 3 ti200

Did you install any new updates Recently? I'd say to restore to last best setting (i can't remember EXACTLY what it says, but you know what i mean), but seeing how you've uninstalled and re-installed.. doing so won't fix any.
If you can get it to run in Safe mode... There's gotta be a way to run it in normal. Maybe you updated something thats conflicting with it. Perhaps there are new drivers that will fix this as well. Also while in safe mode, I would go run a virus scan. I would suggest www.antivirus.com and go to free tools and do the free scan. I dunno, but maybe there's something in there thats aimed at GF3's.. As of right now, I'm just not sure..

Hmm, not sure about the updates but I'll check and see if system restore works.

You need to upgrade, anyway. Go and buy a 64 MB GeForce 4 TI 4200. You'll get at least 9,000 on 3d Mark 2001 with it, and it only costs like $70-80. It's a fast, cheap solution until you want to throw down big bucks for a high performance card.

I dunno, I kinda like the GF3.. If he needs to upgrade for a game, its probly better to just save up now and continue with the GF3.
I shall quote something from the document I provided. Quote:

It's dead, Jim. I just formatted because I couldn't restore back far enough. No dice.
I think I'll have to buy a new card in a month or so, no jobby right now.
