Having problems installing a wireless router.

When I try to use the cd rom and do the setup it tries to detect a internet connection it says it can't find one, thus ending my setup at that point.

Any help is appreaciated.

you usally need a a wired link to the router, thats working so it can find the router.

tell us more about your setup.

pc -> router via ethernet card ? or usb, what ?

basically i'm trying to hook up my friends comp.

I think he is using a gateway. Connected to the inet using cable modem. When trying to install the software it looks for an i net connection and doesn't detect one.

That being said I hooked up the router anyways and ran the line from the modem to the router to the comp and the inet was working fine.

If you need more info let me know pls.

I had the same problem.

First make sure the comp is connected directly to the internet. DO NOT HOOK UP THE ROUTER TO THE NET YET. run CD rom.

When it tells you to, hook the internet to the router and then the router to the comp. finish running software.

should work fine. If this does not fix it, the problem will have outgrown my experience level. BUT i had the same problem and with some patience and some reading i figured it all out...
