Hiding programs from Add/Remove Programs?

My work computer is running XP Home. Some co-workers recently cleaned out my computer of all "unnecessary" programs... i.e. AIM, Yahoo IM, MSN, K++, iTunes... and so on. Anyone know of a way that I can have these programs installed and leave little or no record of it? I was planning to hide the Program Files folders, but I would also need a way to hide their entries in the Add/Remove Programs page. I found a program called TweakAll which allows you to remove hidden programs from Add/Remove Programs, but couldn't figure out how to hide a program in the list. Any help would be appreciated.

Microsoft's TweakUI does that, doesn't it?

It did for windows 2000 if IIRC.

i just had a look at the group policy snap-in in mmc and i don't see an option for this in the add/remove programs section

edit-

ok here's how you do it:

in the registry, go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

look for the programs you want to hide

for each one, edit the DisplayName value, adding "Quiet" before the program name, i.e. iTunes ---> QuietiTunes

they will be gone from the add/remove list

usual registry warnings, etc ;-)

Thats incorrect you change the name of DisplayName to QuietDisplayName, not the data in the string, ie the program name stays the same.
