I'm having real difficulty actually understanding what you're saying here smackre. Try to be more clear and please post in plain English.

More l33t-speek = less help from fellow board members.

Having said that, are you saying that both computers are now slower?

Where is the router? Between both computers? Connected directly to your cable-modem?

yes both computers are slower. And the router is connected strait to the modem with a 6 foot cable and both comps are connected to the router with 6 foot cables. Its weird beacuse i can download stuff at normal speeds but websites are realy slow......i try and talk as clear as possable....

Are you using P2P programs like KaZaA, Morpheus, Bit Torrent, etc.?

If webpages load slow but the download speed is fine, that leads me to believe the router has nothing to do with it. Are both computers checked frequently with Ad-Aware or some kind of adware-eliminator?

i used to use kazaa. i still have it but have not opened it in months. Yes i use adware 6.0 and spykiller 2003....to think of it when i first installed windows on these 2 comps the net ran fast....its like it slowed down with use. think reformating with out ever using kazaa/other p2p programs would fix it?

Has your connection been slow ever since you hooked up your router, or is it a recent thing? If it's recent, reset your router by unplugging it for a minute then plugging it back in. This happened to me last week, and that is all it took to solve it.

it was fast for about the first week with the router. then it slowed down. and been slow for months now.

I doubt its the router. Something else has changed. If it was the router, it would have either been slow from the start, or completely crapped out. Something has changed, be it a setting somewhere, or something that is running.

Well, two items I can suggest.

Are you using port forwarding for your P2P programs?

Also...

go to www.dslreports.com and make sure that your RWIN and MTU for your router as well as your desktop are set correctly.

Try the "Tweak Tester" and it will help you make the correct settings.
