WEIRD PRINTING PROBLEM -- NEED HELP FAST! - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

OK, so I spent 6 hours making a damn Compaq printer work with WinXP on my friend's machine. However, there's a problem with the color: when something is printed in color, all the colors are fucked looking. The red is a light pink, blue is light blue, etc. The printer always worked fine for me, and we tried 2 ink cartridges to see if that was the problem. We even used the cartridge cleaning option on the printer and it didn't help.

Can anyone help me with this?

Could possibly be on draft mode. Other then that I'm not sure what would cause a lighter color effect.

No, it was on normal mode, and did the same thing when we used the copier (it's a 3-in-1).

are the heads on the ink carts or are they on the printer? If they're on the printer, they may be clogged for good and need replacement.

I don't know of any Compaq prineters that have replacable heads. It sounds like they're permanently screwed up and you'll need a new computer. Try running the deep clean a few times with old catridges and then use new ones to print, set quality to the highest level possible.

I would delete the driver and re-install, making sure you have the latest drivers from HP/Compaq. Then try printing at the highest resolution it will allow. If it's still screwed up... it may be time for a new printer.
