Have much money --> what to buy?

Here's the predicament. I have laptop and want

Digital camera
External Hard drive
CD-RW/R + DVD combo drive.

But i can only get one of these for now. Whcih one should i get first?

I have almost no more space on my internal harddrive cuz of music and movies, so I should get a harddrive to store more movies and music. BUT, then i don't have a dig camera or a cd drive to play starcraft :(.

If i get a dig camera, i can take cool pix of my buds at college, but i don't have space on my computer to put the raw pictures on. Plus with no cd drive i can't install photoshop and edit them pictures.

If i get a cd-rw/dvd blahblah drive, then i can play starcraft, diablo 2, etc, but i start running out of room for new games. plus i don't have space for any more music or videos, and i can't take pictures of my dorm pplz.

WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO!! HELP!!

I say the digital camera because you can store the pics on a memory stick and some printers can print off the memory stick plus you can always go to a friends house that has a cdrw and use their comp to burn stuff.

Thats up to you. However, were it me, I would get the CD-RW drive. Then you can play games, and if you need to, burn some of the stuff on your HDD off to CD to free up space. Then I would get the external HDD. The digital camera is just a new toy... Get it whenever you want to.

my thoughts exactly.

internal or external though?

i agree with the purchasing order...and i'd guess he wants external for portability and such...dunno if it's cheaper to get an internal hdd and an external housing for it?

uh.. guys, its laptop. i can't cram much stuff into a laptop. But yea, everything is external cept the cd drive, cuz its a removeable dealio that fits in the spot where i'm missing my cd drive.

... But i like toys...

I say get the cd-rw/dvd combo drive. it will fill the empty hole. allow you to burn your existing stuff to cd, freeing up space. and let you watch dvds and play games.

Get the camera.

I'd get a burner, CD-Rs are cheap these days, it's like having tons of extra hard drive space lying around.

definately start with CD-RW/R + DVD combo drive. like people have said, burn your music/vids to cd's, then you have space for games.

digi cameras are great, and i love mine, but i would definately put off buying it for now...its nowhere near as important as the other 2.

I agree, go with the CD Drive. It makes more sense. Either that or get a Regular PC. They're getting cheaper and cheaper, even for a good one.

Ive got a very similar problem: 40 gig harddrive on a laptop, and I run a campuswide file sharing (DC++) server off my comp. so there's so much music and movies out there I want to have... so I have a CDRW drive and some very cheap wholesale 800 mb cds (A GREAT INVESTMENT) so that I can use NERO and burn off movies and keep enough space for a running workspace. There's really no question which one you need more... A computer without much space is still good... a comp without a cd drive?? worthless
