Cables for TV/Satellite/DVD setup??

I just got the Toshiba 50" HD Cinema Series TV. I love it! I also have DishNetwork, audio surround, DVD, etc. and would like to know which/where to get the best cables for all components? My gf and I finally decided to upgrade the standard DishNetwork receiver to the HD 811 receiver along with the HD service. I'm assuming the 811 receiver will have DVI available so I'll be using that connection for the HD satellite receiver. However, aside from HD, I'm in need of some info regarding audio and DVD (no DVI yet). Any info would be appreciated. THX

If you don't mind spending the extra coin...

www.monstercable.com

They make great cable cables, well shielded and gold plated connectors.

For something high quality along a Monster pricepoint, check out XLO.

For a little nicer cable, still reasonaly priced, try Tributaries

Now, something a little more esoteric.... Kimber Kable.

And for no holds barred, cost no object performance, Transparent is the only answer.

Went to BestBuy to check out some DVI cables for the TV/HD setup.
"$99 for Monster DVI????"
What other hi-end DVI brands are there?

Stay away from Monster. Way overpriced....just like Bose speakers. Get AcousticResearch cables for half the coin. They actually seem higher quality by look and feel, and i can't see ANY difference in performance. Best Buy has them.

One thing you might want to be careful of: If your TV is like mine, you can't adjust the aspect ratio of the DVI input. It only accepts 16:9, which your HD programming may or not be in.
A weird thing, but it will make me use the component cables over DVI, to prevent a 4:3 show from looking stretched.
Check your manual.

Monster's DVI cable is actually pretty decent, for what it's worth. Much to my surprise, many of the high end cable manufacturers I frequent (Kimber, MIT, PS Audio, Straight Wire) don't make DVI cables. Bummer. The only one I've found:

The object of my personal lust... the Grand Mack Daddy of cable...

As always, an easy place to shop is http://www.audioadvisor.com They have Munster, MIT, Tributaries. I recently bought some MIT component video cables (the AVt 1). They are silver coated copper, true 75 Ohm, and look amazing. Got a screamin deal on them as well. I'm still tweaking my picture right now, but am enjoying them quite a bit.

Anyway, I know AudioQuest and Analysys Plus both make a DVI cable.

I went to a electronic conference a few years ago that actually ran a few tests with different cables and showed the difference. The monster cables..while yes overpriced...do actually make a difference...but only if you are a real top of the liner. Most people will be perfectly happy with the regular ones. The best demo i saw showed a video game where on closer review the colors were slighty different between the rca and monster cables.... Once again something most people could live without...but if ya got extra cash lying around...

Rule of thumb: 6% of your total HT cost should be used on cables. Cables DO make a difference on HighEnd stuff. Trust me! Mit, straightwire and Kimble make great interconnects. Monster is good for lower end systems. AR is better than monster for this price range however.

You are only as good as your weakest link when it comes to pro audio.......
