They (the bad guys) actually made a (probably spyware) plugin for me to install. It popped up when I went to a random website that seems to be the type that has a ton of popups (I block them).

Anyways, I was just totally surprised that I was being prompted to install some software I didn't request. That's such an IE-thing

Edit: I went to www.2.flingstone.com, definitely spyware. That page holds their EULA, which is very umm.. harsh. I usually don't read the EULA, so maybe they're all like this (any communication you have w/ the company is $300/hour, and you agree to pay any other costs for whatever.. they can change the EULA whenever they want w/o notice.. oh.. and you allow them to read your data

Guess it was only a matter of time...

Oh well. Firefox is still magnitudes better than IE.

Not the least of which is because at least with Firefox things aren't going to be able to be installed automatically without the user's permission. Wish the same could be said for IE.

FYI, fixes for this are under discussion.

Bug 238684 - Onload (and onmouseover, onmouseout, etc.) XPI installs should be blocked by default
