Good Nerd Websites

Allright, I'll start by admitting there is a large self-interest in what comes from this. I need good nerd sites that I can surf at work (while I'm bored). If it's a nerd site, they won't care if I'm reading up on the latest kernel release or whatever. So... what are some good computer nerd sites you visit? Here's the couple I look at now...

News:
Slashdot
OSNews

Software (note: not individual software sites, but sites that keep track of many differnet programs):
Freshmeat
Gentoo Packages Site

Gear:
ThinkGeek

Any other good ones I'm completely missing out on? :)

TheBrit 05-08-2004 05:18 AM

Similar to Freshmeat.

Starship Dimensions is a good site you can waste on hour on. If you run it on IE, you can drag scale models of various objects from various sci-fi continuities (including Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, Robotech, Farscape, and various novels and video games). Lots of fun!

Ha ha, I checked it out. That's a neat site. I love stuff like that! Those Super Star Destroyers in Star Wars are pretty damn big. :)

Oh man - what a great thread this is. I like the starship thing as well and sent it to some of my friends who are of like mind. I will be checking back here for more suggestions.

Anything I could contribute was already here. Thanks so much to everyone though.

Tech IMO Is one site I frequent, lots of good information on there.

It's kinda simple, but Lockergnome.com's got some good stuff. RSS feeds make it quick to weed out the newbie stuff.

There are those who are amused by Acts of Gord. It tells of the true and surprising antics of a video game store owner...
