Help with 3rd hard drive

I pulled 2 old hard drives out from my old computers and I am wondering how I can hook them up to mine so I can see if I can recover any files off of them. any advice? BTW I already have two hard drives hooked up now, a master and a slave(obviously), and i was hoping i wouldn't have to pull one out to put another one in.

external enclosures that convert ide to usb, or a pci ide card. what about your other ide chain? 2 cd drives?

yes you can do that. the jumper config should be on the drive, or you can look it up via model # search on the company's site. in bios as long as the ide's are set auto detect you will be fine.

Take the cable that your CD drive is on and plug both old hard drives onto it. Just match up the jumpers correctly on the hard drives. The connector at the end of the cable is Master and the connector in the middle is Slave. The jumpers are on the back of the hard drives...there should be a little diagram on the hard drive showing you where to put the jumper for a Master or Slave setting.

I always get errors with CSEL. I'd simply set the hard drive to slave if it's on the middle connector.
