HELP ME ASAP - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Please.... ok, here's the skinny. I borrowed my roommate's camera to take some *ahem* pics. It worked great, batteries fantastic. It's a Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera Model #DMC-LC33. Then as i click again (using self timer function) It just shuts off. Zip, lens closes camera off. WILL NOT turn on again for the life of me

I tried replacing with new batteries twice and there are no visual signs of problem. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I'll be up late so PM me please or post back here. I'm also putting in photgraphy thread because it's a camera. Thoughts? Thanks *sigh*

Quick thought, Is the memory full? can you look at the pictures with the built in screen?

No, can't even turn the camera on, let alone access the picture screen. Thnk i'm just gonna go buy new batteries (i mean i tried putting other ones in but they're crappy generic batteries so maybe they don't have enough juice in them). I'll figure this stupid thing out.

Probably batteries, some digital camera's are picky as to what you put in them.

Just to make sure, it wasn't wet/humid when you were taking the pictures, right?

Like the others said it's probably the batteries.

My camera behaves snottily like that too, when its batteries are dead.

"I'm not talking to you. No, don't push my buttons. You want my screen to light up? Ha! I'm not talking to you!"

You know there are usually two batteries used in it, right? Ones for taking pictures and one that retains your date settings. Sounds like the later is dead. It looks like a small, flat round disc.

My parents had a Kodak camera that did the same exact thing, it was a known issue. Had to send it back to them for service. Not saying that is your problem, but similar symtoms. Good luck.

I also had a Kodak that would do that. Kodak was pretty cool about fixing it free of charge but after it did it twice, I went out and bought a different make and model
